I was a victim of a red light runner which completely destroyed my personal vehicle and upended my life. The at-fault insurance agency set up a reservation for me with Enterprise. Initial contact with this branch was slightly unpleasant. I waited approximately 10 minutes in the lobby before being helped despite no other customers in sight. After being attended to I was put into a vehicle very quickly...a little too quickly. The inspection with the agent before releasing the vehicle to me was extremely brief and and extremely rushed. I was told to look for any "dent bigger than a golf ball and any scratch that penetrated the paint layer" of which I found many. All of the dings, dents, and scratches I presented to the agent were immediately dismissed. Although this raised a red flag, I naively trusted them and their assessment. Off I drove. During my time with the rental, I was constantly harassed by the office as to the location and status of repairs for my wrecked vehicle, despite them being in direct contact with the insurance agency which was handling everything. Upon returning the vehicle to the branch after hours, the vehicle was in the same condition as I received it. I even went as far as returning the vehicle with more gas in the tank than I received it with and one day early.



Two days later I received a call informing me there was severe damage to the running board (very bottom on car below the doors) that would necessitate repair; so severe there is no logical way it would go unnoticed while driving and in such an area of the vehicle it would be impossible for it to be damaged while parked. I then received an invoice for repairs which contained a lot of fluff including "miscellaneous costs".



My advice with Enterprise, specifically this location, is to not trust them. Make them slow down during the release inspection. Take pictures of the vehicle before release and after return. They are all about the turn around on the vehicle and all about over charging. They were not helpful in any part of the process and only added to the stress of being in a severe car accident. I have had good experiences with other rental agencies, and will never use Enterprise again.
