Exceptional Roofing Maintenance

During a roof inspection by the field supervisor for Chavez Roofing Company it was quickly observed that ALL of the skylights and canalies were improperly installed. The inspector noted that in this case it wasn't a matter of whether or not the skylights would fail, but rather a matter of when and how bad it would be when it happened. The company that installed the original roof had obviously cut corners to save money and time with the presumption that no one would find out about it during the absurdly minimal warranty period of two years. That was the only thing the original installing company got right about my roof. They did not install any weather stripping around any of the 13 skylights and had minimally secured them with hastily tapping in at most two nails and no screws. They also failed to apply any mesh tape under the scant amount of tar around the canalies. The inspector was amazed that none of the skylights hadn't blown off during one of our extensive spring wind storms. He was able to completely remove multiple skylights using his thumb and forefinger to pull out the barely tapped-in nails, and could easily lift and manipulate all of the skylights. This would account for the excessive dust that we routinely found on the floor/counter tops/sinks and tub areas around the house. The maintenance crew arrived precisely on time along with the field supervisor who walked around the roof pointing out and explaining the job to be accomplished. The experienced crew worked tirelessly to completion of the entire job that included the removal and proper re-installation all 13 skylights and reworked all of the canalies. They also sealed the area around around the base of AC/Heating unit that was allowing dust to be sucked into the vents. Upon completion of the job, the field supervisor returned to inspect/approve the work--it was perfect. I have no hesitation endorsing and recommending the team at Chavez Roofing, and this includes everyone from the office staff that I talked with on several occasions, to the entire field crew. The owner of this company know how to run a business because the majority of his personnel have been with him for years and have the knowledge, experience and interest in doing the job right--the first time.Flat roofs should be inspected annually, and I highly recommend calling Chavez Roofing to handle this job for you--finding and correcting a problem early can save you a lot of money in the long run.
