Nick and his wife showed me sales, and helped me pick my carpet out. They were very fair, and the installation was excellent. I enjoy my new carpet more every day.

I needed new flooring for my home office. I had seen Specialty Floors store front not too far from where I live and decided to give them a try as I want to support local small businesses. The owner, Nick, came to my house the same day that I called. He brought appropriate samples based on my description of what i was looking for and I picked out a color of vinyl plank flooring. The installers showed up basically as scheduled. When they tore up my carpeting, they discovered that molding would be required around the perimeter of the room - at an additional cost. That was something that Nick should have discovered at the time of the estimate but I agreed to pay the extra $300. The molding had to be stained and the owner of the installation company suggested that it be stained to match the floor, although I said that I thought it should match my wooden baseboards, which were much lighter than the floor. After missing the installation appt by a week, the installer finally came back and installed the molding. It did not match anything - floor or baseboard. Although Nick originally agreed to resolve the problem, when I called to ask why no one from the installer showed up, i was told that the installer decided that he did not want to correct the problem. Although I reminded Nick that he committed to correct the problem just the day before, he responded that he was not going to do it. I have since had to hire a professional painter to correct the problem and get the molding to look like it should have in the first place. I would not recommend Specialty Floors because the owner does not care about customer satisfaction and he is at the mercy of his installers, who are contractors. They don't communicate well, make their own schedule and don'[t do things that they don't want to do. Stay away from Specialty Floors - avoid the aggravation and lack of customer care.
