Award-winning chef/owner Dino Grossi and his family opened Volare Ristorante in the Fall of 2004. Located in the heart of the new downtown Wixom city center, this restaurant features a dramatic interior rich in texture and color. The philosophy is simple: use the best ingredients as simply as possible and serve them with joy and passion. As a Tuscan cooks in Chianti, as a Neapolitan cooks on the Amalfi coast, as a Sicilian cooks in Palermo, at Volare we cook as an Italian might, in the truest sense. We import pasta, Parmigiano Reggiano, balsamic vinegar, sea salt and Prosciutto San Daniele because they are so distinct and virtually indispensable to the creation of a great Italian meal. We fervently believe in the inherent quality, freshness and greatness of our regions' ingredients, purchased from predominantly organic, farmers and friends. Our cheeses come from all over Italy. Our wine list is predominantly Italian, in celebration of the quality and diversity of Italian grape varietals and vinification. Volare Ristorante offers a memorable dining experience of impeccable Italian cuisine, and we have assembled a passionate team that possesses a combination of talent and experience. Volare is our interpretation of the best we have come to know in the Italian culture of family where it is best and most often celebrated, at the dinner table.Award-winning chef/owner Dino Grossi and his family opened Volare Ristorante in the Fall of 2004. Very nice restaurant. Wife was talked into the special of the day which was filet and lobster tail. no price was given by the waitress. So the two of us enjoyed a very nice dinner. The only problem was a table of loud mouth people who shouted all their words. Got our bill, which was $160.31 for the two of us. The "special" was not listed as the "special" but was listed as the filet and a lobster tail for about $69.00 . What a surprise.

Good food poor atmosphere. Severe lighting in a cavernous noisy environment. Food is very good but over priced for the setting. Turn down the lights and create some intimacy and it would be good.

Top notch

I have only eaten here twice. It's very pricey. With that said both times the food was amazing and the service was great. I got a fish special and a steak the second time. I would recommend this place to anyone for a special night out.

Disappointed

We spent two hours at this restaurant for what ended up being just a two course meal - there were long gaps between everything. Our server didn't seem to have much knowledge of the food, or show much interest in serving us, which is why we ended up not ordering more drinks, appetizers or dessert. My food had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time, since by the time I got it it was a greasy congealed mess. My partner got a seafood pasta that was so spicy she couldn't even taste the other ingredients. We probably would have both sent our food back if our server had bothered to come by to check on us. This seemed to be a common theme amongst the waitstaff though, as the table next to us had a different server and also endured long wait times between courses and food that overcooked - perhaps because of sitting under a heat lamp for 1/2 hour? Although they offer a complimentary valet service, we opted not to use it, and were told then that we had to park in the back of the lot. Apparently it's more important for the valet not to have to walk as far as the customers. The most positive thing I can say about it is that at least the place appeared clean, (although it was kind of hard to tell with how dark it was) and the prices were reasonable, although on a higher end of the scale. My overall impression was that no matter how hard they're trying to appear high class, it just came across as pretentious. We won't be going back, and won't recommend.
