Dr. Juliana E. Boneta earned her Doctor of Optometry degree with high honors from SUNY State University of New York and completed a residency at Northport Veterans Administration Medical Center specializing in primary care, vision therapy and low vision rehabilitation. She was the recipient of the SUNY Chancellorââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s Award for Student Excellence, Louis Hermann Award for Outstanding Compassion in Patient Care and Vision Service Plan Award for Excellence in Primary Care. Dr. Boneta is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Boneta has co-authored a number of ocular disease based research papers that have been published and/or presented in peer reviewed optometric and ophthalmologic journals and scientific conferences. Dr. Boneta has extensive clinical training in the management of glaucoma, cataracts, corneal and retinal disorders as well as in pediatric eye care, soft and hard contact lenses, pre-operative and post-operative care, and low vision therapy. She is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa (International Optometric Honors Society), American Academy of Optometry, New York Academy of Optometry, New York State Optometric Association and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
