I have lived at Wheaton Center for 5 years. When I first arrived here the apartment was not ready for moving in, they didn't wash carpets, clean or paint whatsoever, I had rented a truck and had friends take time to help move - this was a huge in convenience and waste of my money. I noted items on move in list to be fixed that never were. Major maintenance issues over the years never addressed. Due to their "improvements" that haven't been made yet, they cut the lock on my gym locker and threw out my items. The notice on the locker was posted for 7 days - that I happened to not be there. No other notice was made, no plan to keep someones items, nothing! They also destroyed the parking lot so no one can park in April and it has yet to be paved due to the rain they say. In the mean time I cannot park anywhere unless its 6p-8a. And I have received 3 parking tickets already because of this! The improvement project they started have done nothing but make living here hell and they did not plan accordingly for anything. They even put extra doors in the hallways that make it more difficult to bring your laundry down. These improvements have brought Wheaton Center down in convenience and livability and after 5 years - I am moving next month! The management staff is incompetent, rude and unapologetic. No one managing these improvements is taking current residents into consideration, and the management staff did not plan well for anything. Word to the wise it isn't worth the hassle or rent. Resident turnover is high now!

No parking, rude staff, maintenance slow for requests, ugly landscaping, loud neighbors.



Stay away.

Our experience with the Wheaton Center leasing office has been stressful and frustrating. There is minimal communication between the staff and the residence especially when there are issues regardless of severity. We experienced a range of issues during move in and our first few months. That said, once we made a strong effort escalating our concerns to the general manager and DK Living property manager, they worked with us to correct our situation.



The location of Wheaton Center is ideal. The facility is directly across the street from the Wheaton train station (noise is not as bad as you think) making a trip to Chicago incredibly easy. It’s a short walk to downtown Wheaton with all the shops and restaurants, great for Saturday mornings with the French Market open just down the street. The people that live here are incredibly friendly promoting a great community, and the maintenance staff is incredibly responsive to resident needs.



While we’ve had our trouble with management while living here, their actions to resolve our comedy of errors shows they do want every resident to call Wheaton Center home. The city of Wheaton, the convenient location, and the residents of Wheaton Center make living here that much more attractive. It is at least worth a trip to tour the facility and see for yourself.

Beware- the staff changes constantly.



The building is not at all secure as they claim it to be.



The upgraded "premier" apartments that they charge you extra for have serious issues with plumbing, floors, etc.



Parking is awful.



This place tows for no reason, by mistake, etc and has a contract with Redmons towing...



they are banking on the towing fees alone.



Washers and dryers rarely have hot water.



Sure, entrance lookes nice, but take a look at the peeling paint and delapitated garages, and the fact that some of the cement balconies ned to be held up on stilts.



Really unsafe.



Elevators are not fully operational due to freight elevator being used constantly of people moving out- sometimes takes 5 minutes to get a ride up.



Dryers don't work right in the laundry rooms.



They will also increase your rent by as much as 300$ after the first year.



Entrances are constantly wet and dangerous to walk on, hallways messy and rarely vacuumed, mainetence is very slow to respond.



Overpriced "luxury" apartments that will only increase in rent after your first year of living here.



Handicap access doors buttons do not work properly or at all, and ramp to get from garages in and out with your grocery cart is hardly, if ever there.



Plan to have to walk to two blocks to get groceries in, and don't park in front of building to unload, you will get ticketed and maybe even towed.



the computer roam they boast about while giving you the tour is a joke.



computers are run down, printer hardly ever works.



Hot water issues- better shower at 4am, or you will get a barely lukewarm shower.
