Christine, Gloria and Dorothy ...

Christine, Gloria and Dorothy are wonderful to deal with...the clothes are nice, but extremely overpriced. While they are mostly some type of designer, they are still second hand and the owner wants to price them as if they all worn one time or something. The 90 day thing is a rip off to the consignor. Most of the clothes are out there much longer than that and the owner gets the entire selling price, which is a definite misrepresentation. As far as the owner, I will follow my mother's lead; if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

It has the possibility of lots...

It has the possibility of lots of potential. Unfortunately the staff has MUCH to be desired. For being a resale shop, I'm surprised at how snobby the staff, and owner are to ALL customers. While searching for items I get to watch them in action. They act as if they are working for Gucci or Juicy Couture. They need to bring it down about 20 notches and realize - IT'S USED.

They are rude to customers saying things such as "well if you won't take it (with the stain), someone else will", or "what do you mean it smells musty; all of our clothes are cleaned and pressed by the seller, before they arrive".

Their only ray of sunshine is a sweet lady named Dorothy. She's extremely helpful, always cheerful, and is truthful when you are trying on items.

My Favorite Things also REFUSE to hold anything. Even for an hour. I forgot my credit card once, and they wanted me to call it in over the phone? WTF? Why would I do that when I can return to the store in 90 minutes?

They have some outrageous prices on non- name brand clothing. I pulled up a t-shirt once, not noticing the price. It must have been from Target, Massimo? and their price was $15? Target doesn't even sell it for that much. Their "designer" handbags, which many are FAKES are completely over priced, and again - USED.

I was unemployed for two years and learned to scrimp and save and geographically this is the closest resale shop to me. I "need" to shop here to get work clothes for reasonable prices.

Remember - it's STILL SECOND-HAND!

Thank goodness the Salvation Army Thrift store on 75th in Downers Grove and the Goodwill Thrift Store on 63rd and Rt. 83 are near by. I ususally stop there first.

Ladies - change your attitudes and you'll get more repeat loyal customers.

Why I Love My Favorite Things

This local consignment store takes in all the upscale, current designer labels, including St. John, Ann Taylor, Liz Claibourne, Ellen Tracy, Talbot's, Chico, and many more, in a complete range of women's sizes, including pluses and petites. Designer furs and leathers, suits, evening wear and prom dresses are also here, along with fashion jewelry, scarfs, belts, purses and hats. Moms and grandmoms can also find a good selection of stylish fashions for their discerning children. And all this excellent quality and value is displayed along side one of a kind dining room tables and chairs, cabinets and home accessories, with new, distinctive pieces arriving regularly. I have shopped exclusively at this store for many years, and I think I have evolved into a very well dressed fashion maven, thanks to a cadre of discriminating consignors who do an excellent job of scouting out fashions that run the gamete from classic to trendy, and then bringing them over to one very attractive boutique where price conscious women like me can indulge ourselves in affordable luxury. I absolutely refuse to shop anywhere else.

Wonderful shop

This is a wonderful shop! They have women and children clothing with lots of name brands to choose from. Everything is nicely organized by color and size. They have several dressing rooms so you can try on your selections. Very pleasant and helpful staff. They even have decorative accessories and furniture. Great selection of shoes and purses and jewelry. Can't beat their dressy attire. Can't say enough. I love shopping here!!!

Lots of Designer FAKES

This store sells a lot (I repeat A LOT) of designer fakes for astronomical prices. I was completely disgusted to see so many poorly constructed fake bags, wallets, and accessories at prices in the $150-$200 range. Do not waste your time, unless you want to buy a used, fake bag.
