For a brew pub close to home, Rock Bottom is a great choice. I first discovered them years and years ago on the 16th Street Mall, and it's nice not having to trek downtown for a good beer and tasty pub food. I'm always happy with their vegetarian choices, the atmosphere fun, and the service friendly. I'm not one to splurge on fries often, but their are definitely worth it, and washing it down with one of their cold beers on tap is even better. I go in for lunch occasionally as well. Though I skip the beer, the patio provides a nice, mid-day break.
