My mother has been in Locust Grove since 2002, and neither my brothers or I have ever encountered the smell of urine in this facility. We never would have our mother in such a place for so long. I've always been impressed with the individual attention she receives from all the staff. Everyone calls her by name and makes her feel like an important valued individual.

The two awful reviews use some similar wording and were posted on the same day. Disgruntled ex-employee maybe? Anyway, just had to say that my family and I recently placed my mom in Locust Grove. It is spacious, wonderful location, caring staff, very clean, and smells great!

I completely disagree with these other 2 ratings!! My father currently resides at Locust Grove in the memory care unit. His room is extremely clean, and there is NO smell of urine in the facility as I walk through the hallways. My father had stayed at another, extremely expensive assisted living facility prior to his living at Locust Grove...and he was consistently unkempt and his room always had an strong odor. Additionally, the staff at Locust Grove have been very kind to me and my father (and he can be difficult). I have nothing but good things to say about Locust Grove, the cleanliness, the generous room size, and above all, the genuine kindness the staff has shown to my Dad. If you wish to pay a lot more, for far less...check out another facility, but you'd be making a mistake if you didn't consider Locust Grove.

locust grove is by far the worst most unprofessional facilty in the state. i recently went to tour the facility and after being overcome with the smell of urin worse than the monkey cages at the pgh zoo,i was treated to a resident beining verbally abused by the director and administrator for not getting not off a toilet fast enough and if thats not enough i then saw a room no bigger than a avg house living room with people in wheel chairs pack to the wall the carpet smelling of mildew and a few residents i noticed what appeared to be stains from breakfast all over their clothes from jelly stains on their face to scrabbled eggs in their laps. i honestly feel my elderly loved one would get better treatment in a siberian prison.also i seen no staff..o wait i did they seemed more interested goin outside filling their lungs with sweet nicotein than tending to the resisdents. i wouldnt put osama bin ladin in this place let alone my loved one. in conclusion i would not recomend this place to anyone this place should be condemned and if any has there loved one here i pull them out immediatly unless you want an early funneral.
