I just started quilting so I'm brand new to this. I've been frequenting Bits 'n Pieces for more than six months and I feel like a kid in a candy store whenever I go there! Fabrics are gorgeous and come in a huge selection, as do threads. Lots of patterns and kits to choose from, too. Julie, the owner, is immensely helpful. Every time I walk out my head is exploding with new things she has taught me. Super knowledgeable and super friendly. You won't be disappointed!

I was going to go to this store as I want to learn how to quilt,,but after reading the reviews I think I will find another place to go.

I have put a lot of thought into writing this; I have been familiar with this store back to their days in Dearborn. I've been quilting for 15 years and am a strong supporter of local businesses. If you want to patronize a store that is only happy to take your money and provide absolutely no customer service, then this is your place. Their fabrics are beautiful, I'll give them that. But everytime I go into this store, I walk out shaking my head and wondering why. Anything beyond taking your money, this store is the worst in helping a customer. If you get stumped on any pattern or product, even ones you've bought from them, and return to them for help, don't count on it. And no, it's not just one employee either. Julie (owner), Sharon and the newer person are all equally unhelpful. Absolutely not what I'd expect from fellow quilters. They may be great at their own sewing/quilting, but dont even try to ask them to impart any helpful tips or information, because maybe you'll get the same answer I did--"then you shouldn't have bought it". This is the only quilt store that I’ve ever shopped in where I got a completely unwelcoming and unfriendly attitude from the store personnel so something finally needs to be said.

If you buy a sewing machine from them or take a class they love you otherwise NOT. I purchased $100. worth of material and didn't get a thank you. Beautiful material but very unfriendly staff.
