This store was remodeled bmario and Harold Carota and the house next store was were Harold and his wife lived and the house India the back end was where my grandma lived until she passed on .the little room on the end of the drive on the right side was occupied for a while by my brother peter and then it was used later for a shop by my uncle Harold carota .those were the good old days .i remembered helping my uncle in the store and helped take care of grandmother carota until I got older and moved on .the house across the hiway up on top of the hill on the right hand side was built by my uncle and brother Joseph and uncle lived after he sold the store and house .the property on the left side on top of the hill was owned by the owner of granite construction company in Watsonville .

This is one of the greatest little markets in the country. When you step though the ancient wooden screen door, it's like stepping back in time! Like any great General Store, this place has a little bit of everything you might need. We recently moved into the area. We love the people, the service and the ambience. Their sandwiches are really delicious. And, we locals drop in on Sundays for half price, freshly made deli sandwiches, made to order while you wait. It's worth a visit!

I love this place! The owners/staff treat you well, are most friendly, the sandwiches are the BEST (my favorite is the BLT on sourdough, toasted) and they do a great job of providing a desirable variety of groceries and other products -- so is a charming, simple, no hassle, first-rate convenience store & deli!
