Lauriol Plaza Restaurant was established in 1983. Ever since then, we have become a landmark in DC. We are nestled in one of the most vibrant, diversified Dupont Circle neighborhood in DC. According to food critics and clients, we are popular for good food, good service and good prices. We have the most diversified clientele, who has a true passion for Mexican, International, Latin American food. This is the spot to see and be seen in the Nation’s Capital and, although, we are a large restaurant, in essence, we still remain the small neighborhood restaurant we once were back in the old days. We are proud to have served families and couples in the 80’s and their new generations in the 2000s, and, through engagement, weddings and reunions celebrations, we continue to serve them generation after generation. Since the moment you enter, you will be impressed with the scenery. Whether you sit in the main floor, the mezzanine, the rooftop or the outside patio, you will always see a stunning perspective of the scenery. Inside a mural of a Spanish fiesta covers one wall of the bar; the interior beyond is cool and urbane, all matte-black metal and white walls, with woods in four tones forming the curved ceiling and stair rails, the expanse is magnified by windows as tall as most of the neighborhood's entire buildings. Dog walkers, bikers and joggers pass through sidewalks as if they were part of the decoration in an urban film. There so much to see. We thank our loyal clientele and our hard working staff for making Lauriol Plaza the landmark institution is has become for the past 30 decades. Kids and I stopped for Sunday brunch at Lauriol Plaza in the Dupont neighborhood of Washington, D.C.

Steak and eggs for me - a 4 ounce filet mignon and two fried eggs with O'Brien potatoes and a fruit garnish; French Toast for my twins - 4 slices of French bread served with maple syrup and fruit garnish; and an American breakfast for my oldest daughter - two eggs and bacon served with O'Brien potatoes and a fruit garnish. Orange juice, coffee, and water as our beverage. Tortilla chips and salsa served prior to the meal.

Vilma was our server - she was friendly and polite, but a bit hurried as the restaurant was very busy. A pretty popular place.

Food was cooked exactly to order and was very tasty. Kids had no complaint and even complimented on how fresh the fruit was. Vilma stopped at the table a couple of times to refill our empty water glasses and to inquire whether everything was okay.

Restaurant was clean, although the restroom could use a bit of attention. Valet parking - which we took advantage of - is available. I thought the price was a bit high for Sunday parking, but my main complaint would relate more to double parking. I'm not a fan of having my vehicle parked in a traffic lane.

$59.64 for breakfast, plus server tip, plus valet parking, plus valet tip. I debated my rating review, but there are more positives that negatives at Lauriol Plaza.

A local favorite. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for great food at a good price! The only downside to visiting is the wait time, especially for large parties. Just recently, we waited two hours for a party of six! Also, it is located in a residential neighborhood, so parking can also be a nightmare if the parking lot is full. Overall, the food is excellent!

Best Mexican around NW DC

I've been a loyal customer for several years. They are known for mexican food and their frozen margaritas, and of course they make them on the rocks too. Most people go in groups and order pitchers, although I've gone alone and gotten take out on occasion. They do have excellent food too. I love the big monterey salad, it's huge. They also have excellent salmon, and they make very good enchilladas and tacos of course. It's all good. Just gotta watch your bean intake. he he
