Scout, the Boxer of Brightwood has been going to City Dogs for most of her life (8 years). They love her there, and she loves to go! I never worry about her during the day!

My spouse and I have regularly taken our dog, Dashi, here for daycare and grooming since 2015, going on 3 years. We've been very pleased all around with the establishment. Our big dog is gentle and sweet, but has always been somewhat shy and quirky/neurotic. Nevertheless, City Dogs takes great, loving, considerate care of him throughout the day several times per week, and that means the world to us. We've never had a problematic incident. Other big pluses about the place are its convenient lower-Adams Morgan/Dupont Circle-area location, and the operators' flexibility--their willingness to make things work out for their loyal customers and not take advantage of them. That's something you can't always say about less established doggie daycare places I've come across in the cities I've lived in. Also, the grooming is very solid for the price. If City Dogs has a downside, it's the relatively small space it has to work with, both in the lobby and in the play rooms, but that's a trade off you'll face for any downtown DC dog boarding/daycare facility. We love and rely on City Dogs, and they can be trusted.

We dropped our dog off there for a half day so that we could go out to eat nearby and they were very flexible with our out of town status. We simply faxed over her up to date vaccinations and she was free to play with the other dogs. They have a separate large and small dog playing area of equal size. They let us choose which room to put her in since she was relatively big but still a puppy (we put her in the small room). I was a little apprehensive about leaving her at first since there aren't a lot of reviews for this place but we were not disappointed. She came back relatively tired and the most adorable and attentive thing ever is that they do a daycare report card so that you get an idea of how they behaved around the staff and other dogs during the day along with the amount of activity the engaged in while there. The half day was 17 dollars for 6 hours and was extremely worth it. They don't go for relief walks but you can pay extra for walks if you prefer your dog not to relieve themselves indoors.

CITY DOGS is wonderful, my baby goes there often. The atmosphere is friendly and outgoing, the staff are attentive and helpful, the facility is clean and most of all the dogs all seem to be very happy. Each time she goes, she is excited to be there and comes home exhausted, happy on content. The staff goes above and beyond to make the experience a pleasant and stress-free one for all the human...right down to the doggie report cards. Wonderful clean, caring facility. Would highly recommend.

I've been bringing my dog to City Dogs for about three years now. Their service is a god send for owners of dogs with separation anxiety. My dog really enjoys playing with the other dogs there and I can feel good about leaving her in a supervised space with people who really care about the animals. The staff are very friendly and have always been accommodating to our needs. I like how happy my dog seems when we arrive and I like the daily report cards they provide us. I highly recommend City Dogs for day care or boarding.

I have had my dog attend day care here 3+ times per week for over 3 years and have borded him numerous times for long weekends and vacations. City Dogs has done an excellent job with him and is extremely reliable and convenient. The owner and employees (with one or two exceptions) all appear to be genuine dog lovers. I buy the largest package deal, which ends up coming out to $25 per day. I strongly disagree with the one star reviews. What kind of building doesn't allow pets to go out the frond door? You probably aren't supposed to have an animal or haven't paid the required deposits/fees. I've never picked up "a urine soaked dog," nor have I seen any during the countless times I have been in and out of there with my own. This place is a life saver. I would highly recommend it.

Our dogs, Maggie and Winston, love this place! My husband and I moved to DC about 4 weeks ago and hated the idea of our dogs staying cooped up in our flat all day so we looked into doggie daycare in the area...this one had great reviews so we gave them a try and we are ecstatic we did. We have happy and exhausted pups everyday we pick them up. It doesn't get much better than that! Thanks James and Yvonne for the great written reports on how Maggie and Winston did during their stay at City Dogs :)

I take my 5 yr old pup here about once or twice a week, and he comes home tired and well-taken care of. Would I prefer a large space or outdoor space like some of the daycares in the suburbs? Obviously yes, but the staff take good care of my pup, and it's a good option for those who live in the city.

We love City Dogs and so does our bulldog, Walter! Walter has stayed at City Dogs overnight (for 4 consecutive nights) and has gone to Day Care several times over the past 2 1/2 years. He always does this hilarious thing when he gets home from a day at City Dogs. He marches right past us and jumps into bed and sleeps until the next morning. We've learned over time that we need to wake him up for dinner otherwise he'll sleep for 14+ hours straight!!! We love that he gets a report card each time that he goes so we know how he was behaving throughout the day. They usually write a couple of notes below to be more specific (who he played with, if he was being silly, etc.) We can tell that Walter has a great time at City Dogs because he always tries to get inside when we're walking by on our walks, and he goes up to the windows to say hi to the people inside. Also, we love that many other bulldogs go to City Dogs, too, so he can play with like-minded bully pups :) Staff is fantastic - they're so sweet with the dogs and you can tell they love dogs. Overall, City Dogs is a really great Day Care and they do a great job!

I love City Dogs, but more importantly Nina does. It's the one place I can leave her and actually feel good about it. The City Dogs staff are some of her favorite humans!

I've been using city dogs for daycare for my pup Francisco who has separation anxiety. Today I dropped him off for the weekend and he was so excited he dragged me into City Dogs! It's my first time leaving him for the weekend and I'm feeling good because he is in good hands!

City Dogs is FANTASTIC! They took such good care of our dog and he absolutely loved it there. He had been going to City Dogs for day care since he was 4 months old (he's 3 now)!

We just moved away and miss the quality of service and care our pup got from the staff at City dogs!

City Dogs is the best. Everyone who works there is super nice, and they are great with the dogs. Especially our dog Reagan, who spends every school day there. They can also wash your dog or trim her nails during the day, so that they are fresh and clean when you pick them up. Monday through Friday, they are open 7am until 9pm, which is super convenient-allows us to drop by the grocery store or grab an after-work drink before picking her up. Very reasonable prices- especially if you buy a pack of daycare visits all at once.

I have been taking my dog Fitz to City Dogs for a couple of years now. Have been thrilled with the customer service and the wonderful relationship built between my dog and the staff. City Dogs has been so great for Fitz's socialization. He LOVES going there. He starts to wiggle and wag his tail every time as we approach 1832 18th Street. He gets plenty of exercise and I always schedule the daily walks for the more than reasonable $5 fee. They also do a great job with departure baths and nail trims. I usually buy the 30 day daycare package as it's a great deal and they apply those days to my boarding stays. Very convenient and saves money. They give you daily report cards both for daycare and the walks which I love to see. This place gives me tremendous peace of mind when I travel. Bottom line is for 2 years, Fitz has been consistently happy and excited every time we go there and is just as excited and happy when I pick him up, and smelling fresh from his departure bath when he boards. I see it as "camp" for him and love the open boarding concept. No kennels! Love the expanded hours and convenience of making online reservations. Highly recommended!
