Worse service anywhere. I needed a washing machine and my wife and I visited the store with all the intentions of purchasing today. We walked in and received a very lukewarm welcome. That asked us what we were looking for and we told them exactly what we wanted.

Being an intelligent shopper, I came prepared. I went to sear.com and picked out two possible models. We immediately noticed a large price difference between online and the store. The online price was cheaper, by far.

The explanation we received was the store was independently owned and operated. Therefore, had nothing to do with sears. Sounds trashy, but Ok.

So my wife and I settled on one machine and started the process of purchasing it. Since we had no way of doing a pickup and sears.com would have delivered the washer for free. We weren't expecting to be charged for delivery. We quickly found out that it would have cost us an extra $50.

Typically, that wasn't an issue, since I was going to purchase a washer from a store in Independence MO and was willing to pay $60. That deal fell through, so that was one of the reasons we went the hometown sears. So, when, I told him that we just lived four blocks away and if he could just drop off the washer for free. He said that he could not.

Four blocks, I asked him if he was willing to let $600 walk out the door. He quickly responded, that there is nothing that he was willing to do. So we walked.

We walked right to Lowes in Warrensburg. Purchased the exact same make, for the same price. We asked about delivery and they said that delivery was free. So, we purchased the washer and selected a date for delivery and walked out the door.

The person was either the store manager or owner. If I allowed a customer to walk out the door without buying anything. I would have been fired. No wonder sears are going bankrupt and they should.

Small owners sit back and pick and choose the customers that they want to help. Then they complain that they are going broke.
