A friend and I just returned from a 3 bow hunt at Master Rack , we love the experience. It was our first paid hunt and we wanted to give it a try. The Staff is great down to earth people that enjoy bringing the excitement of hunting to other people. Our guild Clay was outstanding and put us on a ton of deer. Unfortunately we did not see the trophy deer we were wanting to. But saw plenty that would have made some else a great first time Bow hunting adventure. We hope to return next year.

I had hunted there for 3 straight years at different dates every year and had terrible hunts, seeing few deer. The people are great. Food great. Hunting not so great.

Spent 3 great days at the Lodge. Will definitely return. Our guide Clint was great and a lot of fun. Steve, Roberta and all the other guides made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. I hunt northern Indiana from October 1st through December. I saw more deer in three days at the lodge than I've seen in two years hunting northern Indiana. I killed a nice 8 and my buddy killed a really cool 10. It was a great trip. Just to keep this real and put things in perspective, I didn't see much until the second day. I had already made up my mine that I was coming back. The hunt isn't always about killing, it's the adventure.

I just returned from a 3 day rifle hunt with these guys and all I can say is they are the REAL deal when it comes to service, and the quality of the hunt. We have already booked again with Steve and his team for 2017. I was able to bag a massive 9 pt that netted 133 and two does over the course of my stay. A friend of mine that also went killed a nice 7 pt as well and passed on multiple chances at does. I would estimate that we saw 25 deer over three days with a 1/1.5 ratio of bucks to does. I didn't feel that the deer were on high alert or skittish due to over hunting and I was able to hunt a different area on each of my hunts. Bottom line, if you come prepared to hunt, have decent weather and are not afraid to pull the trigger you have excellent chances of taking a quality deer. Several nice "first bucks" were taken by other hunters as well. Our guide Clint 'aka Hoody" was very professional and friendly, as were all of the guides, and I put on 6 lbs. during my stay, so the food was equally impressive. We plan on making Master Rack a yearly stop. Thanks again for a great hunt!

Returned from a 3 day hunt. Dec. 21- 23. My goal was to have my Grand Daughter (12yr.) kill a buck. I did not see a single deer in 3-day 6 hunts. She was guided and only saw a couple does. The people and guides were nice but for + $3000 we were disappointed. I expected some kind of offer to come back at a discounted price, but that was not offered. 10 folks at the lodge . One kid shot during that time and no deer were harvested.

Its unfortunate that the deer were not moving better for Noel and his group. This does happen with whitetails. Every hunt is not going to be great. However, Master Rack pressured is never a factor. 10,000 acres and over 300 stands on a 4-10 day rotation is not heavy pressure. It is typical with East winds that we are more limited in our setup (predominant NW winds) and therefore poor weather and slow whitetail movement usually results in working tighter group setup to use the wind to your make deer move better.

It takes 20 hunters in the rut to cover a enough stands to have good success. More would be better but you can expect 20 hunters during the rut. This is normal routine, not quantity interests.

I would encourage you to contact Master Rack and discuss before judging based off a couple of poor deer movement experiences.

We have a 85% return rate. We strive for 100% but unfortunately we know that with whitetails, there is no way to please every group. Thank you for your business Noel. We regret the deer were not moving better for you and your group.

Just returned from a 3 day trip to the Master Rack Lodge. Our group was extremely disappointed. Lodge is interested in quantity, not quality. Way too many people hunting at the same time (20 people at the lodge while we were there). Hunters were too close together and hunting stands had been severely over pressured. Six people in our group saw 11 deer in 3 days, and none were large enough to shoot. Of the 11, only 3 were small bucks. Traveling to and from stands with guides were cramped in their vehicles. Other than great food, I would not recommend this lodge at all.
