Established in 1965, Thomas Street School is a public school that serves more than 350 students in grades kindergarten through three. The school s Student-teacher ratio is 22-to-1. The school has 28 classrooms, special resource classrooms, three courtyards, a media center, cafeteria, activity building, music room and a modern computer lab along with a suite of offices. The campus includes playground facilities and equipment, along with three paved parking areas. Additional enhancements include two lighted ball fields, an amphitheater and a walking track. The school provides free lunch to more than 70 percentage of its students. The school is a Title 1 school and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
