I was a patient in the ER yesterday evening.I was given morphine for pain and Ativan for anxiety prior to getting an MRI.I was heavily sedated and upon my release several hours later I needed a wheelchair or an escort to the lobby,I was basically ignored by staff.I am a 72 year old woman and the meds made me unstable and dizzy.I had to feel my way along the walls to the lobby where I waited for a taxi.Even the taxi driver was shocked that I received no help.I hope I will never be taken there again. This isn't all my complaints,I have more.I felt I was disregarded totally.I have placed a call to the complaint department where I hope they will be so kind to return my call.

Last year I was admitted to hospital and was placed into what I think was ICU. It was noisy and nurses were inputting stuff in computers. During "rounds" a nurse and an assistant came in to do their job. Unfortunately, nurse became verbally abusive to me. I apparently told her she was unkind. Some time later I was taken to do some xrays. While I was gone, someone came in and wrote on patient board "you have sleep apnea and heart disease and you are going to die soon". I said nothing when I saw that message thinking it was payback for upsetting the nurse in charge. She and her staff were very unprofessional and the hospital never did give me a room. I had a toilet behind a curtain. During shift change at night, the lights were turned off and the hum of computers got quieter. I have been placed several times in strange rooms. Generally I like Northwest but always scared about where they put me.
