I was Dr. Gunter's patient for a few years before I moved to Illinois. I have yet to find a more intelligent, caring and down to earth psychiatrist.

I'm responding to a completely negative review by Yearrounder submitted 02/18/2010 to City Search. This review also seems to have been counted twice by YP, maybe skewing Dr. Dawn Gunter's score and by the way reducing YP's score with me.



At any rate, speaking to Yearrounder, I'm personally dismayed to hear about your experience with Dawn. If it's even half as bad as you say, it was horrific. As for me, up until I went to Dawn for the first time I'd had a lifetime of undiagnosed anxiety. It was undiagnosed because it was my "normal" and it was so bad that I could never get as far as figuring it out. Sounds a bit like what you're talking about. Dawn saved my marriage, by family, and probably my life as well, since the mental pain could get so bad that I'd do about anything to stop it.



Yearrounder, if you happen to get copied on my reveiw, please update us our your health and your retrospective views of Dawn Gunter, whether good or bad. I'd be interested.

Dr. Gunter is a lifesaver. She is very commited to helping her patients in every way possible. She will do everything in her power to give you your life back. She has a wealth of compassion and resources and is well versed in not only traditional western medicine (ie: rx,etc), but she is also knowledgeable in alternative therapies such as lightbox treatments, acupuncture, meditation and more. Her staff is wonderful as well. She saved my life.
