The Water and Sewer Division provides drinking water for the residents of the City of Troy in Michigan. It also maintains distribution and collection systems. The division is responsible for the discharge of wastewater to the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department waste treatment facility. The Water and Sewer Division is a part of the Troy Department of Public Works, which operates fleet maintenance, refuse and recycling, and streets and storm drain divisions. The department s streets division cleans and maintains more than 1,700 lane miles of local and major roads. The Troy Department of Public Works provides refuse collection and recycling services for over 30,000 households. It is a part of the city government.
