Green Hill Head Start is a program that is funded through a grant from the Administration for Children and Families. It serves school-age children and parents. The curriculum is based on weekly themes that are suggested by educational staff members and parents. The program includes several theme-based activities that allow children to gather information about a central concept through the exploration of blocks, puzzles, sand and water, science and computers, as well as involvement in drama, art, music and writing. Its students receive initial screenings followed by an assessment of their developmental progress. Green Hill Head Start also organizes field trips and is located in Trenton, Mo.
