My family first met the owners of Tail Command approximately a year ago. We had bought a Yorkie puppy (Buddy) and had him for 9 months in which we were never able to get him house broken with traditional methods. We quickly discovered that the problems we were having were much more severe than we thought initially. Our dog had a severe case of separation anxiety. We learned through video recording that anytime we would leave him, he would go into an anxious fit soiling his crate and then becoming even more anxious that he had had an accident.

We had asked another dog trainer for help, but because of her limited schedule and my difficult work hours she seemed to be unable (or unwilling) to make adjustments to help us. I was in tears daily over the situation and it was causing turmoil in our home. We even considered finding a new home for Buddy, but not only would that have broken our hearts, but who wants to adopt a dog with that severe of a problem.

When I called Ian at Tail Command, he immediately set up an appointment to come to our home and help us. He did not overcharge us, or try to set up multiple appointments to keep himself financially funded. He spent a lot of time learning about Buddy's behavior and multiple anxiety issues. Ian was not only supportive of our dog, but of me as his owner and the distress that I was facing due to his problems. Ian was available to us by email and phone between appointments and did not charge us extra for those services.

Due to the behavior training we received from Tail Command, within approximately a month, our problem with separation anxiety had lessened by 90%. Our little Buddy had stopped soiling his crate and then house breaking came along more naturally shortly afterwards.

Tail Command is an excellent business with excellent owners. They are not only knowledgeable, but supportive as well. If not for the support and training of Ian and his staff, we would have had to get rid of our little Buddy. We can never fully express in a short review how valuable the services we received there have been to our dog and our family. Thank you Tail Command! We love you guys!

Tail Command is just what Taylorville needed. I have two dogs, Molly and Indiana. I needed to board the dogs while we went on vacation. Since Tail Command was in town, I looked into it. I asked my veterinarian and they had other clients that had used it so I left them there. When we returned the dogs were wore out from all the playing they had done. I thought it would be good to take them a couple times a week while everyone was at work. That has turned into an everyday thing. Every morning I ask, "Are you ready for camp?" They both run to the door ready to play with their friends.

Another good thing that has came from daycare is the confidence that Indiana has gained. When he started going, he was shy towards other dogs and people. Now he will walk up to people on his own and isn't afraid to get a toy from someone else. Molly has also grown. She has learned to share (mostly) and has gotten more patience. She is a work in progress.

I have worked with Ian on better quality food for my dogs. I thought what I had been feeding them was a good name brand food. After talking to Ian and switching foods, the dogs have stopped excessive shedding and have better coats and no more stomach problems.

Tail Command has been just what I needed to keep an energetic pair of dogs happy and healthy. Wether its daycare, diet, training, boarding or grooming, Tail Command has it all.

Tail command

I adopted my lab/pit mix (Buddy) in December 2013 from sangamon county when he was about 5 months old. I was working 3rd shift at the time so I was able to be at home all day with him and had someone to take care of him at night if I needed. I ended up getting a job with normal hours and I wasn't sure what I was going to do with Buddy. A friend told me about Tail Command and said she had heard so many great things about it. I decided to get online and check it out! I ended up emailing Ian a few questions I had about their day care and he emailed me back the next morning.

About a week or so later, I decided to take Buddy to Tail Command to try it out. Before meeting them, I was nervous to leave my dog with strangers for the majority of the day but once I got to know everyone I was sure they would take great care of Buddy! When meeting Ian and his team, I was impressed by their knowledge of animals and their passion for the business. They are all so friendly!

Buddy was having problems with chewing on anything and everything. He would always drag me down the street when trying to go on a walk. He was a good dog but he just had so much energy! After the first day of being at Tail Command, Buddy was a changed dog! He literally passes out for the rest of the evening after leaving the day care. I don't have a problem with him chewing on things, walks are so much more enjoyable now and he's not so hyper! Tail Command is amazing and I'm so happy that Buddy is able to play outside all day and make new friends! Thanks Tail Command! :)

I have been using Tail Command for almost a year now. The service is excellent and my dog loves to go to the daycare. The facility is well kept and the dogs are all excited to be there. I can tell my dog, Daisy, has a ton of fun every day by how tired she is when she comes home.

Tail Command also offers training services. When I started taking Daisy there, she was a bit of a handful and very stubborn about following commands. Within two days of daycare, Daisy was no longer jumping on people and listening a little more. That was without the extra training services that they provide - just included with learning play manners throughout the day.

Tail Command also offers grooming. Daisy has used this service several times. I've had her trimmed up - they did a fabulous job - and often have them do her baths. The great part is I can drop her off in the morning, she will play all day, I tell them when I will pick her up and they have her washed and ready for me when I get there. She's had fun and is all cleaned up without any extra running around or appointment making on my part.

Tail Command also offers nutritional foods for your dogs/puppies that have been researched and are proven winners. When I started bringing Daisy there, I had just gotten her from a rescue. She had very thin, coarse hair and, what seemed to be allergies. They recommended a new food for her and, after a couple of months, her hair was much thicker and softer. Her allergies seemed to have cleared up too.

Tail Command offers a convenient, one-stop services for your dog. They are really awesome!

We absolutely love using Tail Command in Taylorville IL. Our 2 year old english mastiff Ringo was becoming a little couped up in the house all day, so we decided to try out doggie day care last fall. It has been a great experience for all of us he has learned to play well with other and to take food nicely from us. We normally take Ringo 3 days a week and the minute we say Tail Command he gets very excited and looks for his leash. He spends about 8 hours at Tail Command and comes home tired and ready to snuggle up with us, opposed to being wound up and ready to play after we have worked all day! We have also utilized boarding for when we are out of town for the night or weekend and Ringo really enjoyed it. They also sell Taste of the Wild food so we are able to pick up his food while picking him up. Overall we love the atmosphere of Tail Command and Ian and Gabby are great with all the dogs. Thanks from Ringo's parents!!
