I'm a woman. I went to Matador Restaurant yesterday afternoon. I was by myself, and craving some of the wonderful food that I had grown up eating there. We used to take bottles to Halls Party store, right next door, and go to the Matador window and order taco's to go. I was told, "just one, oh okay, seat yourself, I'll be right with you." I went to the back of the restaurant, as I was reading a book and wanted to be away from conversations, and was anxiously awaiting some hot chips and salsa, followed by the combination dinner. Two men walked in about 5 minutes after me, they were told by the same waitress to seat thereselves and she would be right with them. Five minutes later, she goes to the table with the two men, bringing them chips and salsa and waters. They are only two table in front of me. I say, "excuse me", could I get, and she walks away. She never acknowledged that I was there, so I got up and left the Matador for the very last time. Its too bad that someone who grew up on Hampden Street, 2 blocks away, that also helped the Matador expand over the years introducing may people to their wonderful service and good food, taking clients in for lunches, etc.., was treated in such a discriminating way. So sad.

NASTY!!! watery salsa, chewy meat and watered down margaritas!! never again. waitress was very nice though :/

I've been eating here since I was a kid. The tacos are the best! I love that they put parmesan chese on them-unusual and delicious. The restaurant is small and it can get smokey, so I like to order to go. The prices are reasonable and the family-owned restaurant has very friendly people working there.
