After contacting True Built for warranty issues on the home that they had built for us, I was told on June 13th that they would not be doing any warranty work due to us moving into the house before the certificate of occupancy. I had been threatened with this prior to the completion of the house and it was sorted out that we had not moved into the home prior to the occupancy permit and I have an email from True Built that states, "Regarding the 'warranty work', we want to be reasonable and will arrange warranty work for the full year, so please be assured we will take care of matters according to standard practices."

I sent them this email and this morning I got a phone call from True Built. They claimed that since the statement said they would take care of warranty work according to standard practices - they would come to the home one time in the year to fix any problems. They said preferably at the end of the year (since the house had been built - which would be February) - so they didn't have to be bothered coming back multiple times when things go wrong.
I then asked Lestor Elin if this was the standard warranty for all clients - that True Built comes once a year - or if this was just what they had decided to be our warranty. I then asked for him to please send me a copy of the contract where it stated that the warranty meant that they come out one time in the year - to fix all problems because I would like to go over it with my lawyer. Lestor then said - no. I will not send you the contract. You should have it. I then said - so are you telling me - that you will not come out to the house to fix the things that are wrong with the house you built - more than one time in a year. And he said they'd be here in February. And that they couldn't be bothered coming out to the house more than once in the year because it would take too much time. I then told him I would be contacting the BBB and my lawyer and that I didn't understand why they didn't want to stand behind their work. The conversation then ended.
I also believe that this company has shady practices when it comes to reviews. I believe they put fake good reviews on reviews sites for their company and put bad reviews on their competitors review sites. After having dealt with this company for almost two years - I cannot see how they couldn't have any bad reviews. And when I was first researching building companies - I was randomly contacted by someone claiming True Built was the only way to go. This person found me on a review site of the various construction companies that are similar to True Built.
