I have allergies and this year has been the worse. My eyes got to the point that they were constantly itchy and red. There was a couple of mornings that I awoke with my eyes "crusted" shut. I had Dr. Kopstein examine my eyes and he prescribed an eye drop for me to try. Within a couple of days my eyes were back to normal!!! The office is very nice and the staff was very friendly. I highly recommend Tacoma Eye Surgeons!!!

December 2014: Went in for complimentary consultation. Expressed my concern about having my insurance billed when asked insurance information as I have limited allowed expenses per period. Was told that they will not attempt to bill insurance until surgery date. Scheduled appointment for PRK corrective eye surgery in the beginning of 2015 for June 2015. Explained to surgical coordinator that my wife is active duty military and I need a set date for her to request time to drive me to surgery and as well as any necessary time to care for me. Likewise, I explained that I am a working graduate student and that I can only have this procedure done between my semesters and that I too have to take off time from work. My concerns were understood and acknowledged by 2 surgical (first one went on maternity leave) coordinators and several receptionists. I got a statement of charges from my TriCare insurance that the office claimed and got paid for the "complimentary" consultation. I called in every month to check in that the date was available and was told everything is fine. FOUR days before surgery I called and confirmed my date, 1 day before surgery I called and confirmed my time once again. LESS than 24 hours before surgery I got a call saying that they do not have a laser machine for the procedure, that they did not have it this whole time and will not have it until further date. These people have been lied to me from the moment I walked in the door and for following 5 months. My active duty military spouse had leave approved for me and I took time from work for this procedure. My spouse cannot cancel her leave with less than 24 hours and I lost income for taking time off my job. Disrespectful and dishonest establishment with careless staff who have no regard toward client needs and circumstances. I was assured of the date and procedure and made arrangement that the office could not fulfill while having knowledge of it and informing me the last minute.

This business must not entrap clients with promise of service that they do not intend to fulfill. It is inexcusable to lead a client on for almost 5 months while having knowledge that the service offered cannot be delivered. It is also bad form to confirm services on numerous occasions and DAYS before service time to only contact the client HOURS before the service informing them that they did not have, do not have, and will not have the ability to provide the service offered until future unspecified date when final arrangements had been made by the client. This business must cease all advertisement and offers of service until they have the means to deliver services on the date arranged. This is borderline malpractice and unprofessional behavior in the medical field. This business must stop offering medical treatment and services without means to provide them.
