I have used Annie's for years. First, it was just for boarding with my IGs and then when we got our lastest, a mini poodle, for both grooming and boarding. Our dogs have been the judge of Annie's. If they pull me to get into the place, it has to mean they like it there! I have never had a complaint. Since one of their specialties is poodles, I knew I couldn't miss on the grooming end!

We were given a tour before we started going there to see how the animals were boarded (they don't have to be caged if their friendly and are separated by size). My poodle loves to play ball and he is well known there for this and how he doesn't ever want to stop! I feel if the dogs like the place, I do too.

This was our frist time boardi...

This was our frist time boarding out dog. The day before we left for vacation, we learned that the house we were staying in (booked by my sil) did not allow dogs. I frantically searched for a place to take him and called several places before deciding on Annie's. I found the entire experience to be FANTASTIC! My dog has a bit of separation anxiety and although he is crate trained he doesn't enjoy it. He will tear up any and all bedding if left for more than 10 minutes. I think this has more to do with separation anxiety then actually being in his crate which he will hang out in all the timw when we are home. Annie's staff were great from the moment we walked in the door, until the time we left. We came and got Gilmour out for a walk and I couldn't believe how happy he was! They accomodated him by putting him in with another dog and I could just tell that he was in good hands. I was so happy with the rates and the service that I ended up adding on a grooming package. Thank you for making our first dog boarding experience a good one. To be honest, I think our dog had more fun on this vacation than we did!

My only recommendation- coming from someone who runs a small business would be to update/improve the website with more information, photos and better descriptions of the facility. Especially considering you must get a lot of customers from out of town. :~)

My dog loved Annie's when she ...

My dog loved Annie's when she stayed there in September 2010. We would pick her up, take her to the beach for a while, then take her back before 6 PM. She was always eager to get back to Annie's, and trotted from the car to the building with ease. While there she made several friends and they played together in a large open area, sort of like a cubicle. She and her friends acted like happy kids at a playground, and seemed totally at home. While the weather was hot, the air inside Annie's was cool and everything looked very clean. I would definately board my animals with Annie's again if we need to do so while visiting the Garden City/Surfside area.

No stars for this facility

Definately do not use for daycare or boarding. Animals are placed in dirty runs. Annie will not feed them in the evenings

she says most of them are overweight anyway. The problem is that they are just to lazy to clean. By not feeding them

at night they are hoping that they will not poop in their run. Because she does not allow them to stay outside long

enough to do their business. If your dog barks, more than likely something will be thrown at it to try to scare it enough

they won't bark anymore. This place is not somewhere I would want my animal to be for even a second. If they are

there for daycare they will be placed in a run(small run) probably with no water or food because her own animals are in the daycare rooms. They get the special attention not your animal. They call theirselves Master Groomers they are Master BSers. She will keep the cans of food you send and give to her own animals not yours and their treats.

Stay away from this facility...Share this with all your friends... This is not a LIE..What I have stated unfortunately is all

true facts.

Hello, I recently purchased the business from Annie. She is now one of my groomers. I saw this review and feel that it is very unfair. I have seen first hand the conditions and the statements seem untrue unless that was the case 3 years ago. From the response I get from all of our current and past customers, this business has always been known for it's kind treatment of all animals. Also, the Master Groomers is easily verified by walking in and looking at their certificates (MULTIPLE certificates) and awards. I'm sorry you had an unpleasant experience and would invite you to take another look at our facilities. Thanks! Samit Patel

furry retreat

the staff at annie's are wonderful. they truely care about the animals and treat them as if they were their own, sometimes it takes a while to get your pet in for grooming but the wait is worth the wait. i have been going to annie to get my babys groomed since 1998 she is absolutely amazing. she is very patcient with the worst animals, and she doesnt use tranqulizers. i have stopped in many times to make an appointment and everytime has been a wonderful experience. and i love the way they treat there animals. after the first few times i got my pets groomed i had to stop calling in to make my appointments because as soon as i said annie my pets went crazy wanting to go see her.

They never came up to the counter

I was very disappointed with them because they came recommended by our vet. I went to see them and talk to them about my dog and the girls working back there saw me standing there and never even said "hey, someone will be right with you" or "I see your waiting, has anyone helped you." After about 15 minutes of patiently waiting, I tried to get their attention again to ask if anyone could help me, but they just kept talking amongst themselves. I waited another 5 minutes waiving my arms to get their attention, but they didn't acknowledge me. So I finally just left. I was so disappointed and shocked because I heard such good things. Maybe they are good groomers, but I never got to find out.
