I had a very unique experience with this spa that has made me a customer for life! My first visit there, I had recently had a lumbar puncture performed, and was experiencing excruciating spinal headaches as a result. My doctor didn t recognize my symptoms as related to the spinal tap, so after being hospitalized several times without any results/answers/improvement, I decided to try to take matters into my own hands. I thought my pain was some kind of tension migraine, because my neck and back were severely stiff and my head felt like it was going to explode. The ladies at Always in Touch were exactly that- in touch. They were so sweet and really wanted to help me in any way they could. I got a massage as well as the consideration and compassion I had craved from the doctors I d seen. The massage was wonderful, and the relaxation room was perfect for someone suffering as I was. It was comfortable, and Debra was such a wonderful hostess. I got tea and cucumber water, both of which really soothed me. Unfortunately, the massage therapy only seemed to improve my condition for a few minutes. Spinal headaches are very persistent and did I mention EXCRUCIATING? The next time I came by, I was a mess. I needed medical attention. And by that time, they had actually done research and were able to tell me what I was experiencing (I was likely leaking cerebrospinal fluid) and that a doctor could fix it with a blood patch. Why my doctor didn t think of this, I have no idea. But these women really took care of me and saved my life. I got a massage to help relax me, and give me some relief, and they helped call me an ambulance to finally get me to a GOOD hospital (Waccamaw Med Center) where I could have the procedure done. After getting the procedure, I got immediate relief, and walked out of the hospital, good as new. Now I am in love with Always in Touch. I got so much more than a massage. I got warmth and friendship. I can t recommend this spa enough!
