Worst moving experience EVER. Missing items, damaged items...multiple glasses and plates shattered. The boxes were obviously not handled properly. One piece of furniture was a total loss. After filling out a claim form for the damaged items, we were informed that none of our things were covered by the insurance we paid for because we packed our own boxes. This was NEVER disclosed to us. In fact, we were told that we were "saving a couple thousand dollars by packing our own things". So we basically paid for insurance for nothing. Customer service after the move was horrible, and we were finally sent a letter and a check for $200...which doesn't come close to covering our damages. TERRIBLE.

Great experience. I packed my own boxes. Team of 4 moved my boxes, furniture, washer and dryer. Truck and trailer looked new and clean. After they left, I found 2 wall marks on repainted walls that came off easily. Plastic was used on the carpet, mats on the wood. No damage to new house from unloading. Furniture was not damaged. Team of 4 was friendly and great to work with. Final amount less than the reasonable quote. I requested quotes from 4 movers over a month in advance. They were the only one who replied immediately. I had a response and a walkthrough quote within several days. One other did 3 weeks later(?!). I will recommend them going forward.

We had an absolutely terrible experience with Hoy Transfer of State College, PA. They had moved our things, and we had thousandS of dollars in damages & missing items. Yes, thousands - plural. Our things were packed in the most ridiculous manner possible. We had many books - and understandably they would only fill a box half full of books and then put something else on top of them. But they only labeled the box "books", and then they would throw unwrapped glass items such as picture frames or artwork on top of them & throw the boxes around. Many of the boxes were not numbered or inventoried, and many of the boxes that did have numbers & were inventoried had MORE THAN ONE NUMBER STICKER on them!! It was a horrible experience, and I hope this helps you choose a different carrier for your move.
