The apartments are extremely old, poorly kept, and probably violate local ordinance codes for health and safety. Maintenance requests are not fulfilled promptly, if at all. At the end of your lease expect to be charged for extraneous cleaning and appliance replacement fees in the thousands of dollars, even if nothing is broken. Ballyhoo's business model is to prey on students, because it's very lucrative and overcrowding in State College leaves students with little choice. The owners and operators, including Jen Hinkle, are criminals. Innocent youngsters, students, and bill-paying parents need to know to take their business elsewhere.
