The Florida Youth Challenge Academy program is a structured, quasi-military training and mentoring program for at-risk youth that develops the life skills, educational levels and employment potential of 16 to 19 year old high-school dropouts and expellees. The program is 17 1/2 months in duration. The first five and one-half months are spent at Camp Blanding in Starke, Florida. Upon graduation from the Residential phase, the cadets enter into the Post-Residential phase for the next 12 months.
