I write this review for Lubemaster, as an intern student (currently graduated with high honors) who had no choice due to time deadlines for obtaining an internship and had to do my automotive internship at this small unprofessional and unorganized lube shop. My review is based on observing how the owner, Mr. Randy Herpel treats his customers and employees and is in all honesty.

Randy Herpel is temporarily nice to anyone who puts money in his pocket and even from that perspective, his attitude is questionable and not really sincere. More like a fake impression. I noticed that he often talk bad about customers after they had left. As an intern, I wondered if other automotive businesses had this unprofessional behavior as well.

Now from an employee standpoint, Randy Herpel is extremely rude, arrogant and ignorant. He mentions that his work ethic is "Military Grade" and he is a "Safety Freak" but yet he constantly cursed at his employees over anything petty he could find and sometimes would even blame his mistakes on them and reprimand them as if they were dirt, in an EXTREMELY rude manner and thereafter insult their intelligence although I have yet to see any degree or qualifications on his wall. Also if you are so much of a safety freak, why did OSHA pay a visit and find dangerous hazards?

From an intern standpoint, on several occasions he failed to realize I was an intern, fresh out of college and expected me to know everything and where everything was. He became FURIOUS when I could not do something, that he had been doing for years ever since he got fired from delivering bread (go figure that out). He would insult me just like he did his own full time employees, to a point where you are so upset that you cannot even function properly at your work, thereby making even more mistakes and then getting insulted reprimanded even more in the most unprofessional manner.

My final conclusion to this review as an intern is that I will never recommend this place to any college students or customers looking for honest, sincere work as on several occasions I was instructed by Randy Herpel not to check certain things that I should on a car because he was a "fast oil change" and he was "losing money" if the customers waiting in line left. He never gave me a "good job!" or had anything nice to say when I put in all I could to prove how good I was as a college intern instead constantly insulted me and degraded me saying that I had a degree and should know more than him and show him how to do the job?!? Several times in front of other customers.

Automotive students and customers alike, take your business and internships elsewhere. This guys is very unprofessional, treats his employees (and interns) like dirt and even calls them stupid and dumb. Maybe if he had a diploma in Employee skills or Auto Business Management I think it just might help but I doubt you can change such an evil hypocritical self centered person. I was seriously thinking of seeking legal advice for deformation of character but did want to involve the other nice employees (for evidence and proof) who need their job and I am just a "dumb" intern according to Randy Herpel. I have suffered several years from depression previously and was praying to God that this did not get me into that situation again. Luckily it did not because Mr. Herpel is just not worth it. Period. I look at this place as a bad nightmare that has gone by.

The owner likes to say that he...

The owner likes to say that he uses Valvoline but it is actually National Oil. The Mobil 1 is actually Super Tech Synthetic Oil. He takes advatage of the women that come in by charging them for things that he doesnt need and talks about how good they look or how big theyre boobs are as they turn there back. He treats his employees like dirt, doesnt give them lunches. He also over charges for the things that he does sell you. WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO GO THERE?
