The Wastewater Management Department provides services related to wastewater collection systems, wastewater treatment, stormwater management and combined sewer overflow reduction. The department maintains a staff of more than 150 full-time and regular part-time employees. It provides services related to maintenance, repair and replacement of the existing wastewater collection system infrastructure. In addition, the department develops and maintains a construction schedule for the variety of public infrastructure construction projects. It is operated by the city of Spokane, Wash., which also operates other departments, including fire, finance, information technology, human resources, parks and recreation, police, public services and risk management.
