Spokane County Community Service is a city department that provides assistance to people who need developmental disabilities and substance abuse services. Based in Spokane, Wash., it offers a wide range of services, including a developmental disabilities program, regional support network, and substance abuse prevention and treatment. Spokane County Community Services provides child development services to children up to 3 years and transition services to young adults of 21 years of age with developmental disabilities. Its developmental disabilities program also provides information, education and overall coordination and planning of activities relating to services for persons with developmental disabilities. The department s substance abuse treatment programs are funded through a contract with the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse. The substance abuse programs serve adults, youth, people with co-occurring disorders, and pregnant and parenting women.
