Lockwood Boat Works, Inc
1825 State Route 35, South Amboy, NJ 08879
Established in 1946. Our 70th year! Family owned and operated since 1946. The Lockwood Family -- A family owned and operated business Lockwood Boat Works Inc. is celebrating its 70th year. Lockwood's was originally founded by Bill Lockwood Sr. in 1946. Bill built, rented and sold simple rowboats. He was joined by his wife Mary in 1950. To support their growing family, the business focus changed from boat building to a full service marina. To facilitate this change, they purchased a piece of property on the Cheesequake Creek in 1954. Bill and Mary dredged the marina, built bulkheads and docks. Over the past 70 years, the property has been transformed into the marina that exists today, including a fully stocked ship's store, a top notch repair facility and 200 slip in 2 adjacent marinas. Lockwood Boat Works is owned and operated by all ten of Mary and Bill's children. With the assistance of the 3rd generation of the Lockwood family and many loyal employees, Lockwood Boat Works is the place for all boaters in central NJ
