This company is great, A Cut Above Carpentry is responsive and they can do anything. They've helped me at least 1/2 dozen times repairing our homes and our rental. We had indoor repairs [painting, tile work, replacing electrical fixtures] and outdoor repairs [repaired rotten wood at the windows, replaced roof shingles, trim, and fixed a water leak]. If they hadn't found the leak we would have had major damage.These guys are great they even gave me the tax form, to apply for a energy credit for insulation - another thing we didn't know we needed. They were fixing the water leak and found very little insulation in the attic! They let me know without pressuring me to fix it. Which gave me the feeling that they had genuine concern for me, not just my money.

They are always on time, communicate well, have fair prices, and excellent customer service. I highly recommend A Cut Above Carpentry to all friends, coworkers, and family! We will use them again anytime we need repairs for anything.

A Cut Above Carpentry is my around the house and improvements company of choice. Everyone is professional. No work is done until all agreements are signed. That is great and as a Procurement professional and Compliance Director, this is a breath of fresh air. Marcy is the best. The work is quaility. Clean up. And done to my specs. It is always a pleasure dealing with A Cut Above Carpentry. My wife and I feel very fortunate to have access to such an accomodating, trustworthy and capable carpentor in Marty. Marty provides competetive and honest estimates and refuses to allow you to waste your money. I will never hire another carpenter and I would be suprised if any of his other customers feel differently.

Marty is professional, hard working, and always keeps the customer desires topmost in all the work he does. After our sunroom was damaged by water I requested an estimate from A Cut Above Carpentry. Marty surveyed the damage and provided a very detailed estimate. The results were outstanding. Other than the material being new, you couldn't tell there had been any damage. THe outstanding job he did on our sunroom convinced me to commission A Cut Above Carpentry to construct a shed/out building. The building was completed in just under 6 business days.



Marty doesn't settle for less than perfection. Every corner must be square, construction materials must meet the requirement, and you won't find a single scrap left behind.



I have two additional projects I've requested A Cut Above Carpentry to complete later this summer.

We were very pleased with every aspect of our kitchen remodeling project. The finished product is beautiful. Communication is excellent. Both Marty and Marcy (the office manager) answered all questions promptly. When Marty said he would be here at 8am, he was here at 8am! What an unexpected surprise. We will not hesitate to refer A Cut Above to our friends and we will most certainly be calling them for any future projects.

Garage Door Service man came promptly. He was courteous and quickly figured out a simple problem and fixed the door. No wasted time; no extra unneeded effort. The follow up from the company was also great. I will use this company again.

A Cut Above Carpentry recently performed a multitude of repairs at our home. From my first contact with them they were responsive, courteous, and knowledgeable. They were able to set an appointment for me for the day and time that I wanted. When I set my appointment, they sent me an email confirming the date as well as a link to their website which was very informative. I found out that they offer discounts for teachers! The appointment they gave me was an actual appointment, not a "window" of time. They informed me of who would be coming to my home and what I could expect when they showed up. They called me to confirm my appointment, and, sent me an email. All this and I hadn't even met anyone yet! I felt like I knew them and had been working with them for years before they even came to my home. On the day of my appointment, the carpenter (Marty), called me to let me know he was on his way. He showed up ON TIME, in fact, a few minutes early. Marty was very thorough and knowledgeable - he even gave me suggestions as to how I could save a few dollars. He looked at the repairs I wanted to have done and even pointed out another item that needed fixing and said he could take care of that too. He then said he would have the office send me an estimate. I thought for sure it would be a week or more before I got anything. To my surprise, I received an estimate (and a copy of the contract) that night! It was detailed, easy to understand, and more than fair. The office had suggested that I get three estimates to make sure I was getting a fair price but after seeing this estimate, and my experience with them and the carpenter, I had no need to look any further. I called the next day to set an appointment to have the work done. Again, they accommodated my schedule and set up the repairs for the day and time that I wanted. The office seemed happy to hear from me and was more than willing to work with my odd schedule. Again I received a confirmation email, within minutes of setting my appointment. The office called to confirm my appointment and they were more than courteous (even after I left her on hold for a few minutes by accident). They asked if I had any questions and sent me an email detailing everything I could expect to happen on the day of my repair. It was nice to have a copy of the contract before my appointment so I could read it before signing it. In fact, in the contract, they even offer a warranty and a customer satisfaction guarantee - they are extremely customer service oriented! When they showed up to make the repairs, it was the same person who'd done my estimate. He was on time, and again very professional and courteous. The work that was done was meticulous, the repairs were completed in a timely fashion, the area was left clean (in fact, cleaner than it was before he started). My invoice was emailed to me just before he finished and, again, I was extremely impressed. The total bill was a bit LESS than the estimate! They included the "teacher discount" even thought I don't think I mentioned it...I paid my bill and received a receipt within a few hours. The office even called a few days later to make sure I was happy with everything. How could I be anything less than thrilled - this type of service is something you just can't buy anymore. I will recommend A Cut Above Carpentry to everyone I know or meet. I will be calling them back for more work in the future. I simply can't say enough......THANK YOU MARCI AND MARTY!

Rarely do you find pleasant, professional, hardworking people with exception attention to detail. With A Cut Above Carpentry, they are all of that and more. We had prefinished hardwood flooring installed in our bedroom and custom bookshelves made to match others that came with the house. In addition, other odds and ends repairs cropped up. A Cut Above Carpentry handled it all with pride in workmanship and a smile. What you get is a very clear pricing estimate, timely service, excellent work, and honesty. They are a rare find and I, who never recommends anyone, highly recommend them. Even the office staff excels! A+++++

Marty came to our house as promised, on time and with a smile on his face. He perused the situation, offered some corrective action and left promising an estimate. The estimate arrived in short order, with no mention of up front money.

The day the work was to begin I received a call from Marty explaning he would be several minutes late due to a tie up at the supply house. He didn't have to do that but it was a nice touch displaying his thoughtfulness.



The work was completed on time and to our complete satisfaction. It was a pleasure working with Marty and Marcy.

The two men who came to my home were prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. The quality of work performed was much greater than I expected! The lead carpenter, Marty, exhibited attention to detail unlike any I've seen. They communicated with me on every step of the project by keeping me informed of what they were doing, and why. They built in additional features which stabilized my deck even further, without being asked to do so. They did not stop working for any reason, including lunch! They took the time to resolve my concerns when I asked and did not even appeared to be bothered by my never-ending barrage of questions.

The office manager I worked with, Marcie, was indeed "A Cut Above". She was professional and extremely friendly and made me feel as if I was their one and only customer. She explained the repair process, answered dozens of questions, and even sent me an email copy of my contract with my estimate so that I could review it days before signing it.

Before the workers came to my house I knew exactly what to expect from them and how long the job would take. My invoice was clear, concise, and well formatted. I understood exactly what I was paying for and my payment was immediately followed by a detailed receipt via e-mail. When I called with questions, even after hours, the office manager, Marcie, took the time to listen and then intelligently articulated resolutions to my concerns. She gave me a senior citizens discount and their pricing was competitive, but fair. She even called me to follow up with me about a week after the work was done to ask how everything was and asked me if I had any questions. She was very thorough and professional during every conversation and every email!

I will gladly be using A Cut Above Carpentry again and have already recommended them to my friends and family! Keep up the great work and Thank you for everything!!!

Marty has performed numerous jobs for my family home and our real estate business. Many times, when I am unsure of how to tackle a particular project, I have learned that if I ask Marty what my options are, he has the ability to come up with creative, low cost solutions. Martin Jenkins, carpentry work was excellent. He completed the job on time and kept us informed about the ongoing work on replacement of any wood trim and painting. During the job, he offered us alternative materials of various prices to finish the job according to our budget. He was knowledgeable about all elements of the job we contracted him to do and made suggestions about caulking and replacing gutters which he did with great care.

Martin Jenkins came to my house to do some work in my bathrooms and install a railing on the front and back steps of the house. He was always on time and was very professional. He always explained everything beforehand and did excellent work. If more needed to be done he would let me know before going ahead and doing it. He always left the jobsite very clean and was always very curtious and friendly. I would highly recommend Martin and his company. I plan to call him the next time I need any home repairs done.
