Eric and Cornelius are top notch HVAC technicians at Shavitz. Cornelius refurbished our condominium garage exhaust fan to as good as new condition, and Eric got our electric hallway furnace in our common elements working better than it had in years. We have always had trouble keeping our hallways warm since our unit takes in 100% outside air, but Eric was able to tweak the system so it is now putting out 100 degree air even at zero degree outside temperatures. Three cheers for Shavitz, and Eric and Cornelius. Highly recommended... give them a try!

SCAM! Shavitz added a $185.00 future maintenance agreement into my 82 year old father's service call. He was presented with an i-pad and asked to sign with his finger. No hard copy of the document was presented. He went to their Skokie office the following day to pick up a hard copy. That is when he saw this unauthorized charge. When confronted on the issue both Bronson and Diana Shavitz (grandchildren of the founder) supported the "salesmanship" of their field tech. I would not recommend using this company.

I called for a routine heating service. The technician that arrived didn't know how to service a boiler. He didn't say that he couldn't do the job, he proceeded to tell me I needed a new boiler. He broke parts that were not broken to begin with. When I called and talked to the manager, The manager said that I wouldn't be charged for the call.

They waited a month, then processed the payment.

I had to get someone else to come and repair the damage done by their technician, and they went against their word. I would never recommend this company. And I will never use them again!

I came home from work at 7pm to find my building had no heat - my apartment was 43 degrees and I was worried that my pipes were going to freeze. I tried calling my old company and they did not answer the phone. I called Shavitz and they answered after 2 rings and had a guy out to my place within the hour. He was knowledgeable, figured out what was wrong, had the parts on his truck and I soon had heat! He explained everything to me. I would definitely recommend this company and use them again- they were professional from start to finish and I know they are there 24/7.

Good service - worker was very clear about problems and easy to talk to about them.

From estimate to system startup: flawless. Everyone was always on time and very knowledgeable and friendly. The install crew even wore booties over their shoes and I appreciated that - very neat job. I would definitely recommend this company.

I have been a Shavitz customer for years and have a maintenance agreement with them. In this busy world its nice to work with a small family company. The Shavitz's work very hard and I see the personal attention. Thank you.

I came home from being gone all weekend and my air conditioning was out. My house was 82 degrees and my husband and kids were miserable. I called Shavitz not knowing what to expect. I reached a live person at 7pm on Sunday night and a service man was at my house within the hour! All I know is that my family went to bed cool and comfortable and I am very greatful for their great response and service.
