I've rented from Pickett for over a year and have nothing but terrible things to say about them. They are in the business solely for the money and couldn't give a rip about you after you make the bad call of signing their contract.

Need maintenance? Don't plan on it unless the law requires it. Even then, plan on waiting much longer than the law allows. Feel free to waste your time filing a maintenance request, though.

Something is broken? May as well replace it yourself unless you can do without it.

Place is a mess at move-in? Plan on paying to fix it when you move out. Not that they will actually fix it before the next sucker moves in.

Want to reach an agent? Plan on reaching voicemail and waiting a few days to forever to get a call back.

Identify problems at move-in? They won't be fixed before move-out.

This company is run by the proverbial used car sales people of the rental industry. No matter how good of a showing you get, look elsewhere, and don't sign anything. This rental experience was not worth it at all.

Our family is going on 2 years of renting with Pickett Property and have found them to be nothing but friendly and willing to go out of their way to right any wrongs if any. All our maintenance issues have been dealt with immediately with no hessitation and to our satisfaction. It is rare to be able to walk into an office and be treated with respect and kindness. If you are millitary or just a family moving into the area I highly recommend using this family friendly buiseness. You will not be dissapointed.

I'm am currently renting from this company and it's a total nightmare. I have only been in the property for 2 months and I'm ready to get a lawyer and fight it out. Avoiding fixing problems, try to blame me for electrical & plumbing, Property has so many issues, it's not even funny. Phone calls are not returned, issues ignored until I get really mad out of frustration. House is not insulated properly and electrical bills are outrageous. Internet connection is not possible in this property which has put me into a bad position since I need it for my job. That is something that should be disclosed to renter, as we all know, without internet, life is impossible. I was told water/sewage would be paid. That was a lie. Today I go into final battle with them, wish me luck. I'm exhausted from moving and broke and the thought of retaining a lawyer is stressful, I don't need this and neither do you.

Won't Return Phone Calls in a reasonable amount of time. My agent showed up over a half hour late to show me the property. Avoids fixing problems for as long as possible. Attempts to blame failures with heating or electrical outlets on you even if it's the first time you use them after moving in. Took a third of the deposit for unnecessary "cleaning" charges. I would recommend avoiding them. A bunch of rude scum.

I FLEW from San Diego to Washington just to meet with these people after making SEVERAL calls. They finally agreed to meet me since I was coming in to the area just to see their homes. They never showed. The phone number the agent (Jennifer) gave me was the office number and no one was in the office on that day. So the person I flew out there to see stood me up. I called two times after returning to San Diego (not to mention the multiple messages I left during my 3 day stay in the area) and my calls were never returned. I could not believe that a company would let me waste my time and money to meet them and then never show or call or email me back. I suggest you stay away from them. I wish I had looked them up before my trip. The houses and the website are very pretty but the agents and secretary are rude and unprofessional.

This is the first time my husband and I will be leasing a home while our house on the east coast is rented out. We have great credit, secure income and great references. We sent emails...we were ignored. We would make great tenants, were ready to see homes, give all the deposits, and this company finally sent a one line reply that the house we were interested had an application on it. So we asked to see others and were ignored again. Very poorly run company, we have taken our business elsewhere.

Long story short. We called them as soon as they opened and they tried to blow me off to their website instead of showing me a property. When they did show me the property they kept saying..."I don't know if the owner is going to want dogs"...literally 3 different people told us this statement instead of finding out. Our dogs come with a years worth of references and they still didn't want to do their job a lend us a house...despite the fact that the house said "dogs allowed"The person that showed us the house didn't have the answers we wanted or needed so we were sent to their office...12miles away...just to be disappointed with more people (who were rude) with no answers. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!! Property owners...don't let these people manage your property...its a waste. we saw a beautiful house and will not be renting because of these people. FYI...we are still waiting for them to call us back with answers....what a joke.

I have called this company several times to get information on a rental property, they have never returned my call.

Pickett has managed my house for nearly three years. I've lived overseas, and never had to worry. communication is quick, concise & appropriate. the business end of my rental s on auto pilot, allows me to think of other things!

There were several repairs to be done before we moved in. They were never addressed even though we asked them about it on several occassions. It has been a year. They sent maintenance people for things other than repairs without giving any notice. When we asked about it, they just lied to us and said they never sent anyone. Same with a carpet cleaning service. We are required to hire and pay one upon move out. But they sent the carpet cleaner over while we were still moving out. We hadn't hired the one they sent over! Again, no notice given. And again they lied to us about it. They are good at lying to and decieving their tenants. Lied about the owner's plans of selling the house so we were forced to pay another month's rent because they didn't tell us in time to meet the 20 day's notice deadline by just a few days. Highly doubt we will be getting any deposit money back seeing a the house was in disrepair when we moved in. The only thing that was clean about the house was the carpet up

I just phoned Picket Property mgmt. about a home they have listed on Craigslist. I reached a highly unprofessional receptionist whom was chewing gum in my ear, and it sounded as if people were partying in the background. After asking what I thought were questions she should know (is there a backyard etc.) she let me know the amount of the pet deposit and then told me there are no pets allowed. If you're going to pick up the phone please make sure to know some details before trying to pretend to help.

Renting a property from this company was one of the worst mistakes we could have made after being transferred to this area. Repairs take FOREVER. We've been waiting months to have our issues resolved. I also feel sorry for the owners of our rental as this company seems to be taking them for a ride. This company values the relationships it has with its vendors more than the owners it services or the tenants who rent properties managed by them. AVOID working with this company. They are completely unprofessional. And the debacle continues....we just moved out of this rental. The disposition of our deposit was a joke. Again, the outright dishonesty exhibited by this company is shocking. Again, why anyone would have any involvement with the company from a property owner or tenant standpoint is utterly beyond me. Again, AVOID this company!‎

Looked far and wide for the right company to take care of my home while we were away on orders. They came to my home for an assessment, helped me with the paperwork. got someone to fix the minor repairs and rented my home within two weeks of us departing. The tenants have been wonderful so far, and my property manager keeps me updated regularly. I feel confident I will come home to the same home I left.
