I recently visited the Gallery Restaurant and Lounge in Silver Spring, MD and was truly disappointed with the food, and service. I ordered shrimp cocktail and as described in the menu I was expecting collosal shrimp, instead I received 6 small shrimp on a cocktail glass. My server who automatically received a 20% gratuity did not deserve a dime. Her personality was boring and dry and she acted as if she hated her J.O.B. The champagne glasses on our VIP table were dirty, the bathrooms were dirty, the prices were too high, and the service sucked! And, to top it off my credit card was overcharged and I have yet to be able to contact staff to correct THEIR mistake.

I went here on a Friday night from 6:00-10:30. The upstairs of this lounge is deceivingly small but contains a huge downstairs lounge. The bar upstairs was extremely understaffed and people were complaining about the horrible service. It got so noise that it was impossible to hear the person next to you. Later in the evening, the downstairs opens - much like a NYC club with large white sofas and ottomans. Nice, roomy environment -- good people -- not guys hitting on you. One thing I didn't like was the size of their drinks. No matter what you ordered, it was served in a very small glass. Music was ok. I'd go back for the environment downstairs. Good ambiance. It's convenient and once you get downstairs, it's not so noisy or crowded.
