Don't Advise Staying Here

We had planned a trip to the the Yellowstone area and researched our places to stay through Travel Advisor. The Alamo was one that was recommended and we made a reservation there. The second day out, we had car trouble in the evening and couldn't get our car looked at until the next day. My husband called and told the motel that we couldn't get there and had to cancel our reservation. After we got our car fixed the next day, we went on in to Sheridan. We thought we would at least stop by and explain to the people in person what had happened - since we were driving through anyway. As soon as we saw the place we both were very thankful that we DID have car trouble - it was a blessing in disguise. That place is a dump and in a very BAD section of town. We missed our turn and had to drive around the block - many of the houses behind it had the windows boarded up and were awful. I hope anyone that is planning on staying there reads this. It had been reviewed as "clean" and reasonably priced. It looked anything but clean and I would definitely be afraid to stay there. I didn't think about taking photos, now I wish I had because the photos that I've seen of this place have been staged - the place doesn't look anything like the pictures they've posted, it had an old broken down car in the parking lot and it was dirty. It looked more like an old motel that rented rooms by the month rather than something for travelers.
