When you really need your vet & they aren't there for you, it wakes you up real quick, my little yorkie was hardly breathing I called my vet. Shelton Veterinary Hospital & was told to go else where & because i was so upset said somethings i should not have said and not that i would ever go back there, I got a certified letter today telling me not to come back. I have been with Shelton Vet for about 25 yrs, stuck with them when they got busted for un ethical practice's. if your willing to wait a few weeks or months for your flea treatment your good to go, but if you want a Vet that is going to take care of your pet when it really matters, PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE LIKE SHELTON VET TOLD ME TO DO.

It's hard to take a review seriously from someone who doesn't know the difference between 'hear' and 'here.' These people are great!

Dr. Gary and his staff are awesome! I was greeted immediately when I walked in by the front desk person. She gave me paperwork to fill out as a new customer. She entered the information into the computer and within less than 10 minutes I was in a waiting room with my dog Kip. Great experience and great people. PS: The price was extremely reasonable compared to my other vet.

I will not ever go hear again the staff is very rude.

I bring my dogs in to Gary for everything and never have they gotten impatient with Gunner for crying during nail clippings, or trying to hide under my chair, they're always super sweet to him. I've had to bring my first pet to Gary when I was 16 to be put down and he was very kind and appreciative of me wanting time with Sparky, and let me hold him while he fell asleep. I've never met any vet office that is so kind and thoughtful of their customers (humans and animals) feelings and the prices are amazing. An after hour clinic charged me 130 dollars to bring my dog in and they didn't do anything for her, it was just for the visit. I brought her to Gary the next day and he charged 10 dollars, to look in her nose and prescribe some medicine drops. Just Amazing!

Dr. Olsen and his staff are simply the best I have encountered in 40+ years as a pet owner. The key word to describe them is INTEGRITY.

When my elderly cat was at the end of her life I called Shelton Veterinary Hospital to have her put down so she would not suffer any longer. It was a very difficult decision and I appreciated how caring the Vet and staff were during this painful time. I have taken all of my dogs and cats there over the past 10 years and I have never been unhappy with the care they receive.

Two years and four months ago my Yellow Lab had a diagnosis of bone cancer from a South Kitsap Vet.But my Lab was still alive 6 months later. I took him to Dr. Olsen to find that he had torn his achilles tendon and that he didn't have cancer!Dr Olsen and Staff are the kindest, caring people working at a clinic that I have ever experienced. The fees charged are very affordable from routine exams to life-saving surgeries.An amazing Dr and Staff! We thank you more than you can ever imagine!

She is a gracious Dr, compasionate and clear about disease. She cares for you as a dog owner as much as for your pet and stands by your decisions, hard as the may be. I could not be more appreciative her her clear, fact filled discussions and up front information about what is happening to your pet. They were prompt with test results and compassionately relayed the information. The ladies at the front counter are unbelievable fabulous also, customer to customer to the thousands of customers they deal with. SHIRLEY's the best and stands out in society for her long dedication to animals and the owners of animals. Thank you SINCERELY!!!

I've had well maintained pets for the last 40 years and Dr. Gary (Olson) is by far the best vet we have ever had. Very reasonably priced. Two thumbs up for Dr. Gary and his staff.

I recommend Dr. Olsen & Dr. Jones in caring for your furry loved one. I have been going there for 15 years. I have several rescue pets (8 cats & 2 dogs) and Dr. Gary Olsen makes it affordable to care for all of my guys. I drive over 35 miles one way to get my pets to a good reputable, caring pet hospital. The staff is WONDERFUL & very helpful as well. My pets live into their senior years. I have had to put down a couple due to them literally due to old age. I appreciate the quiet time they allow me to say good bye to my pet & grieve at that moment. They understand the "final goodbye" Our County Sheriff drug dog, & tracking dog see Dr. Olsen. With our county budget cuts, it makes it difficult for every county department to get by on limited tax dollars. Dr. Olsen donates his time for the dogs, so the deputies have another tool to fight crime. Thank you to the staff and both doctors for being there for the people who want the best for their pets and can't always afford it.

I really like the service at this clinic. I drive a long way to get there, but they are worth it. They care about the person, and the animals. They also have kept more modest prices as others are increasing theirs. Many vets are not breeder friendly, however, this clinic is very aware and friendly to the show dog/breeder community. Five thumbs up..........

Gary Olson DVM is the only vet I know that makes veterinary medicine affordable to pet owners that are strapped for money and also love their pets. My golden retriever had a fractured femur and he charged only $490 for two(long) pins and a wire to put the bone together...which was a major orthopedic surgery. Any other vet would charge $2300 to $2800 for the same surgery. Even spaying and neutering of dogs and cats is kept at a reasonable price. He also volunteers his time for spay/neuter days for the less fortunate who need pets for companionship and not have to worry about overpopulating the area with more unwanted dogs and cats. One weekend many years ago, my parents lab had a stroke. Dr Olson drove to their home and euthanized the dog, carried him out to his truck and had the dog cremated at my folks request. His charges were minimal then also. This man has much compassion with people as he does pets. A gem in my book and a fantastic vet for the community.

Don't take your animals to Shelton Veterinary Hospital! They double charged me and are now trying to take me to collections for my dog's surgery which was never done right in the first place. After my bill was paid they put it in an "inactive file" and two years later they found it and have been trying to charge me for it ever since. I don't keep records past two years, so of course I have no record of it, and I think that was their plan. His back leg that they did surgery on is in such terrible condition that he can't even walk on it - we may as well have had it cut off and they're STILL trying to get paid AGAIN for it. I've been around and round with them and the BBB for five years now, but nothing has come of it. The owner even has charges from the Health Department brought against him for letting unlicensed technicians perform surgeries and extractions on dogs and cats. If you care about your animals and your finances, please don't take your animals here!

my dog was in there for over a week, when we finally got him back he was 30 pounds lighter and didn't recognize my family. He went in there to be neutered. he died 2 days later.

All the people at the hospital are very caring and treat the animals kindly. We take our dog to them for all her medical needs and have been extremely satisfied.
