The Pottawatomie County Sheriff s Office is a full-service law enforcement agency that prevents crime, protects residents lives and their property, apprehends offenders, and maintains peace and order. It is charged with the constitutional and statutory responsibilities of enforcing federal and state laws, as well as local ordinances within Pottawatomie County, Okla. The Pottawatomie County Sheriff s Office supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an international education program that seeks to prevent the usage of illegal drugs, gang activities and violent behavior. The office is responsible for the service of civil documents by order of the court, such as subpoenas, summonses and judgments.
