DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR'S OFFICE!

When I found out I was pregnant I went to my doctor, Dr. Donnelly and scheduled an appointment for 8 weeks. At my 8 week appointment the Nurse Practitioner, Margaret, discovered that the baby was measuring much smaller than originally thought. We went back and forth over dates and Margaret seemed confused. We saw the beautiful heartbeat of our new baby on the Ultrasound machine. I asked what the heart rate was. Margaret replied, "This Ultrasound machine is just too old to read that." (Margaret could have chosen to count the heartbeat "the old-fashioned way" but she chose not to). Margaret also could have called Dr. Donnelly into our room based on these two items coupled with the fact that I was a high risk pregnancy. Nope. I was not seen by Dr. Donnelly and we were sent on our way to the payment counter.

Two and half weeks later, I found myself in the ER with excruciating pain only to find out that I had lost the baby. The ER Doctor kindly broke the news to us that the baby had stopped growing shortly after my first appointment at Dr. Donnelly's office. The ER Doctor spoke with Dr. Crum at PV OBGYN and discussed my miscarriage and a plan of action. The ER doctor told me to call PV OBGYN on Monday to set up an appointment. I called on Monday and Dr. Donnelly's Triage Nurse Mary received my voicemail and had an hour to look up my file or speak to Dr. Crum/Dr. Donnelly. Mary called me back and had me explain the whole miscarriage again. She said the entire office of PV OBGYN had no idea that I miscarried--even though I explained it when I called into reception on Monday. Also, Dr. Crum from PV OBGYN spoke to my ER Doctor two days earlier. Talk about disorganization. I understand miscarriages are common but this really made me feel like a "number" in their doctor's office.

I set an appointment at PV OBGYN Tuesday with Dr. Newman since I felt uncomfortable with Dr. Donnelly. On Tuesday my husband and I were sent into a room at PV OBGYN without an Ultrasound machine. We were both confused and explained "yet again" to the nurse that I was there for a miscarriage. We were then promptly moved into the room with "the old Ultrasound machine."

Dr. Newman enters the room and his first statement to my husband? "Who's your 'lil buddy?" Second statement by Dr. Newman, "Was this a planned pregnancy or not?" Who cares? We are married and YES it was planned. The baby is now deceased----who cares if it was planned? Dr. Newman was physically rough with me and the ultrasound machine and I asked him to be gentle as I was in pain. He told me that I was all empty and no baby was inside of me. No need for a D&C. Phew! I was so relieved and went home to recover. Nine hours later I passed the baby. How did he miss that on the Ultrasound machine? What an incompetent doctor with poor equipment!

Clearly these doctors at PV OBGYN are not interested in the care of their patients and have lost interest in their careers. I did question this office based on bad Yelp reviews and I should have trusted my instinct. If you have five free minutes, please thoroughly read the commentary on Dr. Newman: ratemds.com/doctor-ratin…

If you want poor care, awful bedside manner, disorganization and "old equipment"....visit PV OBGYN. They will have all four of those things waiting there for you!
