Life is an ever changing river that challenges us to live in the flow, no matter how unpredictable, distressing, or exciting that may be. I provide therapy and education for people who want to change or are facing changes happening to them. My guidance may be helpful if you are: * drowning in the fragmented details of an over-busy life * swept away by a flood of problems and possibilities * marooned on the bank by an unexpected obstacle in your life * stuck in a whirlpool of useless, obsessive thoughts * floundering in waves of emotion * sitting in the mud afraid to get your feet wet OR jumping in over your head * busy rescuing other people who throw themselves into the depths over and over * swimming well but seeking new strength and skill to swim in the current that will carry you towards your goals. Psychotherapy is a process of working with a trained, licensed therapist to pay special attention to your most important concerns. Therapy can help whether you are facing positive challenges, normal concerns of living, unusual difficulties, or extreme distress. In private, confidential meetings we will have conversations about many aspects of your life. I will offer training, tools, and guidance to help you cope positively with the problems you face and take steps to move in the directions you want to go. The meetings are usually an hour or longer, often once a week for a period of time. Therapy may be regular or intermittent, brief or long-term.
