"Salon U opened its doors in 2005 with a vision of a creative space paired with excellent hair service, Michael completed the vision of creating Salon U to be a truly unique salon and built with personal attention focused on excellent service and environmental conscience using mostly green and renewable materials. Owner Michael Romo is a veteran of the beauty industry with over 20 years as a designer in the Santa Barbara. His passion for his craft is clearly reflected in his custom tailored haircuts and an extremely experienced approach to color. Michael has worked as a platform artist and has played a key role as educator where he helped mold young stylists throughout Santa Barbara in the salons he has supported. Using his many years of experience, Michael enjoys helping develop the careers of the next generation of hairdressers, crediting his own success to quality mentorship which is clearly valued by the stylists who work in his salon. Salon U has built a new unique culture for the local beauty market by providing outstanding service and offering high quality products along with a beautiful environment for the community to gather. By combining the beauty industry with both local and international works of art, Salon U has set itself apart from the typical salon experience. "
