U have several friends that have used them and were pleased.

I called to see about repairing my Vizio. I didn't want to spend more than $100 on repairs. I was told most repairs for that TV start around $200.

Most shops said they couldn't give me any info without me bringing it in at a charge.

Thank you for your honesty and not wasting my time.

I would definitely use Roanes.

Brantley will tell you one thing over the phone and then another thing is said by the tech when they come to your house. No attempt was made to fix the tv at our house despite the fact that they knew what the problem was and could have done the work in the house within an hour or two. Would not recommend this business to a friend or family member.

As a repeat customer of Roanes, as my parents were for years, I have always had straightforward dealings with them. They tell you what something will cost in advance and what to expect and they are always willing to advise you if you should fix something or not if it is getting too old or would be too expensive. Honest and fair down-to-earth people there...we will be back!

TOTAL SCAM!!!

My husband took our TV in because the cable cord had pulled out of the back. Someone claiming to be the owner said he had to order a part and it would cost $39.50, which we were happy to pay upfront. We called the 'owner' later who said the whole 'mother board' was wrecked and the TV would cost $600 to fix so it's best he trash it.

I called the manufacturer, who told us the TV has a tube board, not a 'mother board' and based on the description of the problem it was not affected, but that even if it had been it would only cost $80 - $100 to replace! Thankfully they referred us to a reputable repair shop that indeed charged only $87 total to fix and our TV once again works perfectly.

When my husband went back to Roane's to pick up our TV and asked for a refund of our $39.50 for the 'part' that Roane's never had to order, the 'owner' said "NO REFUNDS", despite his outright LIE and trying to SCAM us!!!!

Most repair shops charge an up-front, non-refundable,diagnostic fee. Ours is $39.50. We did, however, make a serious mistake when quoting the repair cost to the customer. We weren't aware of this until after he picked the TV up, however, and he later wrote us a letter telling us that the expensive part we told him needed to be replaced had actually been repaired elsewhere at a very reasonable cost. Upon researching the matter, I discovered that when our tech asked that we check on a price for the part in question, the estimator incorrectly assumed the part was unrepairable and advised the customer accordingly. Actually, the tech was only trying to determine which option was cheaper -- repair or replace. At this point, I immediately phoned the customer, apologized for the error and told him that I'd refunded $39.50 to his credit card. I made it clear, however, that the refund was NOT for a non-existent part or because a standard diagnostic fee was not a legitimate charge. We made the refund because we didn't accurately deliver the info he paid for. He said he understood. In short, we miscommunicated internally, and I apologized. Roane's TV was started in 1946 and has been under current family ownership since 1973. We pride ourselves on honesty and integrity. We have taken this complaint seriously and implemented procedures to avoid such future errors.
