I also have used the Angel Recorders for years and love them! Our church purchased the barred instruments and drums and had a great experience with them. No problems with mallets unraveling and wonderful timbre!

I have used them for years and have enjoyed the Angel Soprano Recorders. After reading the previous review, I double-checked my recorder with my tuner and I have no problem playing it in tune. A lot depends on the angle at which you hold the instrument and the air speed. I cannot comment on barred instruments or mallets as I have not used them for these items.

I highly recommend NOT buying from peripole. Compared with the other big names in elementary music supply, these are no better and usually cost more. My district contracted with them to supply all our barred instruments and within a month every single mallet came unwound. They are poorly wrapped (one was unwound in its shipping box) and not reinforced with weaving at the top and bottom of the mallet head. They sound fine, but are no better than my Empire Music Xylo which was less that 1/2 (That's right, actually LESS than HALF) the price of the peripole. Also, forget the Angel Halo recorder. While it is easy to produce a fundamental tone, it is a 1/4 tone flat. I don't know why they don't tune high and allow you to pull out. There is no fixing the 1/4 flat. So, if you plan on playing with a recording or Peripole barred instruments, forget it. Your ears will not forgive you. If the only thing I ever do for anyone is stop them from buying peripole, I will consider my life well spent.
