We currently have a rescue dog. She is timid and fearful of new situations. Edie takes care of her. Edie is kind and gentle with her. Our dog responds well to the kindness of the staff at Hungry Hound. We wouldn't take our dog anywhere else!!

These wonderful people have always been so friendly and helpful. They know everything and when I bring my dogs in to be groomed, they always come out looking like movie stars. I would never go anywhere else, these ladies are my hero's. Keep up the good work!!!

I've been shopping at this store for years and I'm always greeted with a smile. They even know my dogs name every time he comes in. Their groomers are excellent, and so are the frosted treats for the dogs. Keep up the great work Hungry Hound!

There is no store in the area, or anywhere I have been, that compares to Hungry Hound. I know I can fully trust everything I buy here. I buy ALL of my dog treats, foods, grooming products, and everything else at Hungry Hound. The employees always go above and beyond to help us with all of our needs. They are always able to help me with my dogs allergies or other health concerns I have. I can shop with confidence that my dogs needs are being met. They have a wonderful selection and wide variety of everything you could want for your dog. They always make us feel welcome and treat my dogs like stars when they walk through the door.

The store is impeccably clean and colorful. Shelley is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to nutrition. Our dog was so sick and we were exasperated as to what to do. The vet said all the tests were normal. We were so tired of cleaning up messes at home and didn't know how to proceed. Shelley spent the time on email and then in person to make sure we understood the value of the right nutrition for our dog. In just a matter of days our dog was feeling better. It was tough following such a stringent diet at first but it's only to rule out what is causing the problem. If anyone is feeling desperate like we are, talk to Shelley. She really has your pet's best interest in mind.

I wouldn't enter Hungry Hound if my dog's life depended on it! The staff acts like they are far too busy to help anyone with even a minor question. When I finally got the chance to ask the question I needed help with (food related) the sales woman looked totally lost and said she needed to ask the owner. I should have left then. I have never felt like I was such a pain, when I was spending money in their store!

I am new to the area, and this is the kind of place I am used to in Chicago. They have a very knowledgeable staff, and all of the quality food & treats that I got downtown for alot less $. I'm hooked.

I always find something new and wonderful at Hungry Hound. And I like the fact that they support rescues!

I used to go there all of the time until one day an employee had offered to contact shelly on her "day off" for a concern I had about a dog food. Shelly never called back the next day as promised by the employee, so when I called back she told me "how dare you tell my employees to call me on my day off" and went crazy yelling at me and I used to spend over $100 there monthly. Needless to say when you are a business owner, you don't have days off woman! I try to stay out of there unless Canine Affinity (new dog boutique on Route 30 in Schererville) doesn't have what I need.

Funny how after someones review someone else pretty much tries talking up the owner. hmmmm...maybe shelly belly is writing reviews about her own place. i wouldn't be surprised. typical....

I have a dog with allergies, & after going to other local stores, I was told to try Hungry Hound. The staff was so helpful, and they really know their products. My Bailey is doing SOOO much better. I have never been to a place where they were so highly trained. Very impressive. I am hooked.

I love the stuff here. It's so much better than your average pet store junk. And if you ever need something to celebrate your dogs birthday look no further. They have it all. Nice people, nice place. I can't wait to go back!

I love Hungry Hound and the owner is very helpful, compassionate and caring about helping people and their dogs. At least that has been my experience. I don't have a froo-froo type dog...I have a mixed breed. I have never felt out of place or unwelcome and the owner and other staff members have always been extremely helpful and have gone out of their way to answer questions and provide excellent customer service. They make it very obivous that they truly care about the animals and their well-being.

You had your chance Shelly. I went three times thinking maybe my referrals and I caught you on a bad day but seems like your just another "store front owner" thinking you are on top of the world.

I have gone here plenty of times with our dog and even refered 4 new costumers here that go on a regular basis. Shelly the owner is not pleasent to deal with. she is too good for her own shoes. Her employees are really nice and have no complaints but all the referals that i sent to here and myself will not ever go here again because of Shelly's attitude.

My dog loves to get groomed by Edie. She hops out of the car, and races to the door. They really care about your pet, and your needs here. I now buy all of my food & treats here too. The staff is incredibly well trained in nutrition, and they only carry the best of the best. I think that "nothungryanymore" was having a bad day when writing their review. Keep up the good work Hungry Hound!

We absolutely love Hungry Hound! The owner and the employees know their stuff when it comes to food choices and supplements. We feed raw and Hungry Hound is the only store I trust to supply our food. And the grooming is fantastic! My two go to the Doggie Day Spa about every six weeks and always have a great time being pampered by Debbie! She's an amazingly talented groomer! Our Cocker Spaniels come home more relaxed than they have with any other grooming experience and they look (and smell!) wonderful! We're so delighted with the results!

I have always had a great experience at Hungry Hound. The grooming is fantastic, and they always put my dogs comfort first. My dog is only there for a little over an hour for her haircut and she is always happy to go in. This was not the case at other places. They have unique stuff there, and the prettiest and tastiest treats-just ask my Yorkie! Love the happy knowledgeable staff too. You don't find that around here much.

I have always had a great experience at Hungry Hound. The employees are always pleasant and helpful, and while some items are a little expensive, there are some good deals to be found, too. I also have my dog groomed there, with Nicky. Nicky always does an amazing job and my dog actually seems happy to see her (unlike my experience other places). You get what you pay for, and I'm willing to pay a little extra for quality.

I found the employees to be very helpful and knowledgeable in answering questions about the differences in dogfood. My dog has problems with ear infections and they were able to offer suggestions that have helped. They always ask if I need help taking the food to my car.
