Dr. Aislinn Vaughan is a breast fellowship trained surgeon who completed her breast surgery fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to that, she attended medical school at Indiana University in Indianapolis and a five-year general surgery residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Dr. Vaughan, a board-certified surgeon, has been practicing breast surgery since 2007. Dr. Vaughan focuses on the spectrum of breast diseases, including new breast masses, abnormal mammograms, nipple discharge, breast cancer, and breast pain. She also consults with high-risk patients, such as those with a family history of breast cancer or prior breast biopsies showing atypical findings. Dr. Vaughan is one of the few breast surgeons in metropolitan St. Louis who perform ductoscopies (small camera to look inside duct to allow minimal excision) to evaluate pathological nipple discharge. Dr. Vaughan has completed extensive training in Hidden ScarĀ® Breast Cancer Surgery, an advanced approach to removing breast cancer. She performs both Hidden Scar Lumpectomy/Partial Mastectomy and Hidden Scar Mastectomy procedures. During Hidden ScarĀ® Breast Cancer Surgery, the incision is made in the fold under the breast, around the edge of the nipple area or in the armpit, so the scar is less visible after breast surgery.
