Dr. Kevin J. Peifer joined Rockford Gastroenterology Associates, Ltd. in 2006 after completing Gastroenterology fellowship at the Washington University School of Medicine/Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri Dr. Peifer received his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio and completed Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital before undertaking a fellowship in advanced endoscopy with additional training in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and other advanced endoscopic procedures such as endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). Dr. Peifer is board certified in Gastroenterology and maintains a special interest in liver, pancreas and biliary tract disease, as well as in EUS, ERCP and EMR. Dr. Peifer is the Director of Endoscopy Lab at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center where he also holds positions on various Medical Staff leadership committees. Dr. Peifer is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American College of Gastroenterology.
