Well fracturing, or hydro-fracking, is a process that involves injecting water under high pressure into the bedrock foundation around a well. The purpose is to flush out fine particles and rock fragments from existing bedrock fractures, or to increase the size of existing fractures, resulting in an increased flow of water into the well.
