Since day one, the instructors are always willing to help. All instructors are very kind and have their own teaching techniques and can adapt to different learning styles which I love! The financial aid officers will do their best to help accommodate their students' situations. The students attending this school are very well rounded and easy to get along with. One thing I greatly dislike is that, there is barely any soap in the soap dispenser in cafeteria; there is only a gross bar of soap for us to use. Not so hygienic for a medical teaching facility. PLEASE, FIX THE SOAP DISPENSERS and have actual SOAP! Please and thank you!!!!

Pima Renton is amazing! I'm in the morning Medical Assisting section and love it. Pima offers so many amazing opportunities and resources for their students and even have a ton of options for students who may need financial help along the way. Ms. Adams is such a great instructor (I have her for my back office sequences) she is extremely knowledgeable, relatable, caring, and she will do anything possible to help you if you ask. I had Ms. Enright first for career prep and anatomy/physiology and she was amazing as well. She teaches things in multiple different ways, making what your learning really stick! Then I had Ms. Cooks for billing & coding and front office and really liked her as well. She is very helpful, nice, and relatable. I would highly recommend Pima Medical Institute Renton, it's an amazing school with wonderful staff who actually care about your education and success.

This is definately a great school. The AM class for Medical Assisting is such a wonderful experience. All the learning is hands on and up close. Mrs. Enright, Ms. Cooks, and Mrs. Adams are all excellent instructors, who go out of their way and sacrifice their extra time to help students in ANY way they possibly can. I most definately recommend this school.

This school is amazing. The teaching style is great, no long, boring lectures that lose your interest and put you to sleep. Everything is hands on, learning skills up close, and plenty of one on one time with the teacher. They have so many resources available for students to take advantage of. Mrs. Enright and Mrs. Adams always make sure that you are prepared for the next step. Definitely attend this school!!

This review is for the Renton Respiratory Therapy Program.

There have been significant improvements to the RT program since the new director took over. In 10 months, she's increased clinical sites, modernized lab equipment, and the improved curriculum. This is still difficult academic material, at an accelerated pace, but at least now we have great leadership. Remember, your first clinical is almost a year into the program. The point being is that, for you, there will be that much extra time for clinical rotation fine tuning and improvement. Its expensive make no mistake, but if you're tired of continually retaking prerequisites for the community college programs and entering your name in a lottery to be excepted into a program, its another path for opportunity. The academic standards are the same as any accredited school and credits here do transfer to some Bachelors completion programs in RT and Public Health. Its amazing how things can change, drastically, for the better when the right person is in charge.

For a current review:

The Pima Renton RT program has made a complete 180 since the new director took charge last fall. She has negotiated new clinical sites, and created new opportunities for students. Curriculum has been updated, and fantastic new laboratory equipment has arrived. New instructors are teaching, and an air of optimistic professionalism is taking hold. Like renovating a house, these things take time. But I expect even more improvement as things progress. By no means is this an easy program. This remains difficult and expensive adult education, but it is an opportunity for those willing to work for it. As posted before, the community college programs demand extensive prerequisites, and accept only 4.0 students. When it comes to employment, both personal skill and reputation trump prejudice against ones particular educational background. In a small professional community, professional reputation is everything. As students out on clinical rotations, we are our own ambassadors. Our work ethic and academic merits decide our professional future more than anything else.

I went to Pima for the Veterinary Assisting program. It was great. I learned a lot and felt fully prepared for my extern. I enjoyed the lectures and hands on learning, Mrs. T was amazing! I was hired on at my extern site halfway through and am planning on returning to Pima to complete the Vet Tech program. Thank you, Pima.

This review is specific to the...

This review is specific to the Respiratory Therapy Program. The cost outlay is enormous at 35k, plus 20 weeks of room and board at clinical sites. In addition, you must pay 300$ for NBRC tutoring, and 300$ for the NBRC itself. This is almost triple the cost of the 4 other community college programs in Washington State, especially considering that it is merely an AS degree. The reason that clinicals are so expensive has been revealed to be that the Program Director has alienated many of the local Respiratory Departments through unprofessional, childish and deceitful behavior. This behavior will be obvious if he decides that he wants to " teach" your class. Thus we are forced to travel to remote areas and work tirelessly to overcome the Pima stigma.

On the positive side, the instructors and clinical director are brilliant. Classes are streamlined into useful vocational education, and unneccessary material is cut out. That makes a welcome change from filler programs at public schools. At only 21 months in length, Pima also expedites the move into the job market. Starting from scratch, a community college program will take nearly 3 1/2 years to finish. Chances are also excellent that students will pass the NBRC the first time ( provided that they make it through the program.)
